Job Description

The Opportunity

Join Informed Solutions and help shape an exceptional employee experience for the people delivering some of the UK’s most impactful #tech4good digital transformation programmes.

We’re looking for an experienced HR Advisor who builds trusted relationships, gives confident, practical advice and notices where things could work better for our people. From supporting a colleague through a difficult situation to helping a manager have a constructive conversation, you’ll bring empathy, sound judgement and a commitment to fair outcomes.

Working closely with our HR Manager and HR Coordinators, you’ll manage employee relations casework, build managers’ confidence and help turn colleague feedback into meaningful improvements. As our business grows, you’ll also contribute to People initiatives across benefits and performance, learning and career development, and governance and policies.

This is an opportunity to put your ideas into practice, broaden your experience and make a visible difference in a certified Great Place to Work®.

About Us

Founded in 1992, Informed Solutions is a growing international digital transformation consultancy. We deliver platforms and services recognised with multiple Queen’s Awards for Innovation, supporting large-scale digital transformation.

Our digital, data and technology solutions are used by globally recognised public and private sector brands across Civil Defence, Healthcare, Sustainable Environment and Land Asset Management, and Digital Democracy.

We offer a supportive environment that values initiative and flexibility, with opportunities to develop your career around your strengths and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create an exceptional employee experience. Build trusted relationships, listen to colleagues and provide thoughtful, timely advice. Notice where communications, processes or interactions could work better and take action to improve them.
  • Build line managers’ confidence and capability. Coach managers to hold constructive, compassionate conversations, address issues early and make fair, well-informed decisions.
  • Support wellbeing and sustainable returns to work. Advise on absence, coordinate Occupational Health referrals and workplace adjustments, and support our Mental Health First Aiders.
  • Support meaningful performance and development conversations. Help managers and colleagues use our appraisal system effectively to share feedback, set expectations and identify development needs.
  • Develop clear, accessible policies and guidance. Work with the HR Manager to review policies, the staff handbook and employment documentation, supporting consistent application and legal compliance.
  • Provide practical employee relations advice when needed. Support managers with capability, disciplinary and grievance matters, progressing casework carefully and escalating complex or higher-risk issues appropriately.
  • Help deliver and improve our People initiatives. Contribute across Benefits and Performance, Learning and Career Development, and Governance and Policies. Use people data and colleague feedback to inform improvements and help new approaches become part of everyday working life.

Requirements

You will bring at least two years’ recent experience at HR Advisor level, ideally within a professional services environment, and hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification or above.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • A commitment to exceptional employee experience, with examples of building relationships, listening to feedback and taking initiative to improve how people are supported.
  • Practical HR advisory experience covering performance management systems, Occupational Health referrals, workplace adjustments, policy reviews and employee relations casework.
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment legislation and good HR practice, with the judgement to apply it to individual circumstances and recognise when specialist advice is needed.
  • Clear communication, empathy and constructive challenge, helping colleagues understand their options and managers feel confident in their decisions.
  • Organisation, ownership and discretion, balancing priorities, handling sensitive information carefully and following through on commitments.
  • A collaborative, analytical approach, using data and feedback to identify improvements and working with others to deliver them.
