Title: HR Advisor

Reports to: HR Business Partner

This is a hands-on generalist role responsible for delivering high-quality HR support across the employee lifecycle. Working closely with managers and employees, the role combines day-to-day HR administration with first-line advice on a range of people matters, ensuring people processes are delivered efficiently, consistently and in line with company policy and employment legislation.

This position is based on-site in Droitwich Spa.

Key Accountabilities

HR Administration

  • Oversee HR administration across the employee lifecycle, including new starters, contractual changes and leavers.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation within BambooHR.
  • Ensure HR data is up to date and accurate.
  • Produce standard HR reports and support people metrics as required.
  • Prepare HR documentation including letters, contracts, and policy-related correspondence.
  • Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR processes and systems.

Employee Relations

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, providing timely and practical advice to managers and employees.
  • Manage employee relations cases including absence management, disciplinary, grievance, capability and conduct issues, escalating more complex cases where appropriate.
  • Coach managers on the consistent application of company policies and HR procedures.
  • Support investigations, meetings, and documentation in line with company processes.

Probation Management

  • Monitor probation review dates and ensure timely completion of probation processes.
  • Support managers with probation reviews, providing guidance on expectations, documentation, extensions, and outcomes.
  • Ensure all probation decisions are appropriately recorded and communicated.

Manager Support & Coaching

  • Provide practical, first-line HR advice and coaching to managers on standard people processes and employment practices.
  • Promote consistency and best practice across all HR activities.
  • Support managers in developing confidence in handling routine people matters.

Compliance

  • Ensure HR activities comply with employment legislation, company policies and internal governance requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Contribute to the ongoing review and improvement of HR policies, procedures, and documentation.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should bring:

Education & Experience

  • CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification (or working towards).
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment in a generalist HR Advisor essential.
  • Strong HR administration experience with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience supporting first-line employee relations cases.
  • Ability to coach and advise managers on standard HR processes.

Technical Skills

  • Experience using an HRIS.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Approachable and professional with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
