HR Advisor
Reports to
Director of People, Safety and Culture or HR Business Partner
Job purpose
This job exists to: Assist the management team in all HR matters to ensure that Ritchies follows due process and adopts good people management principles.
Support and regularly visit site-based teams as the HR team are partners to the business.
Advise on HR issues to minimise risk and exposure to Ritchies.

What are the outputs?
Health, Safety & Wellbeing
· Take all practicable steps to ensure personal safety and the safety of others as a matter of priority.
· Follow health, safety &wellbeing processes and always maintain a safe workplace for yourself, customers, employees, and all visitors.
· Contribute and participate when required in health, safety & wellbeing meetings, minimise risks and report all hazards, incidents, and near misses immediately.
· All incidents, near misses and accidents are reported in a timely manner.
· Attend regional health, safety & wellbeing meetings and ensure HR team is updated.
HR Advisor
Collaborate within the HR Team.
Depot Support
· Provide HR support in depots.
· Assist with the annual appraisal and Remuneration review process. Ensure line management follow the process and maintain the appropriate records.
· Assist the business with performance issues including performance management processes.
Recruitment
· Liaise with recruitment to manage vacancies.
· Take an active role in short and long-term resource planning assisting interviewing as required.
· Support the succession planning process.
· Draft and advise on operational position descriptions.
Onboarding/ offboarding
· Take ownership and manage any employees transferring to Ritchies during contract mobilisation.
· Conduct leaver interviews.
Data
· Review HR reporting KPIs and develop continual improvement strategies and work plans.
· Ensure HR records are accurate.
· Provide HR integration to payroll guidance and support.
Process
· Create new HR processes appropriate to Ritchies as required.
· Create guidance on general HR related issues such as mentoring, staff referrals and employee benefits.
· Create training plans (using appraisal data) and maintain a training schedule.
BAU and Projects
· Implementation of the HR Plan and achieve the Annual Calendar milestones.
· Other initiatives as requested by the Director of People
· Collaboration within the HR team.
· Ritchies depots have consistent and reliable HR support.
· The onboarding process and offboarding processes are managed.
· Employee records are current, accurate and up to date (including IEA, PDs, drivers’ licenses, p-endorsements, health checks, criminal checks and training records).
· Finance is informed of all changes in employee information that will affect payroll.
· HR BAU programme is managed and delivered on time.
· Reporting is accurate and delivered on time.

· Uphold confidentiality on company related matters and work within the company defined policies and procedures and the laws of New Zealand.
· Assist with other duties as required and reasonably requested.
· Participate in special projects as necessary.
