Position Summary
The Housing Specialist plays a key role in supporting people living with disabilities to achieve and maintain housing stability by promoting community integration, inclusion, and the development of meaningful relationships and support networks. This role supports individuals throughout the entire housing journey—from searching for and securing housing to sustaining independent living—by providing person-centered supportive services. Reports to the Associate Director of Home & Community Services.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with each person served and their formal/informal support team to develop and implement a person-centered housing plan.
- Identify and address barriers that may impact tenant success; implement proactive strategies that support housing transitions and long-term stability.
- Advocate, support, and coordinate with community resources, landlords, neighbors, and housing organizations to foster successful housing relationships.
- Assist individuals with obtaining, completing, and understanding applications, leases, mortgages, rental agreements, tenant rights, landlord rights, and recertification processes.
- Provide resources and support related to eviction prevention and homelessness prevention when housing stability is at risk.
- Complete service notes in Therap on the same day services are provided, following agency guidelines.
- Meet established productivity and billing standards as defined by departmental goals.
- Complete all required assessments in alignment with department and funding guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- A belief that all people deserve the opportunity to pursue self-determined lives of personal significance.
- GED or High School Diploma required.
- Must be flexible to work on call as needed
- Experience with housing pathways, including lived experience, preferred.
- Prepared Renter Education Program (PREP by Inglis) trained or completion within the first 60 days of employment. (Provided by Achieva)
- Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and a reliable, insured vehicle. Some local travel required to other Achieva locations.
- Able to pass required background checks (Act 33 and Act 34 clearances).
- Strong ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks
- Satisfactory FBI clearance required.
