Friendly House, Inc., is a 501(c) 3 non-profit agency located in Phoenix, Arizona whose primary function is to provide a variety of educational and social service programming aimed at addressing the needs of low-income individuals and families, vulnerable populations and diverse communities. Additionally, Friendly House operates a charter school, Academia del Pueblo, with the mission to provide an academic environment which promotes a culture of high expectations to students from diverse cultures. Friendly House was organized in 1920 as the Phoenix Americanization Committee by a group of Phoenix citizens with the assistance of the United States Department of Education. In our 100-year history, the work of Friendly House has resulted in building resilient communities that are helping to spur economic development, stabilize neighborhoods and revitalize our city.
About the role
This position is a Grant Funded position set to end on May 31, 2027, however a new application will be submitted this year, and we are confident that grant will be renewed. Position is 100% in-person and physical location is within the City of Phoenix HOPE VI Project/Emmett McLoughlin Community Training and Education Center.
The Housing Services Manager works to improve the quality of life for residents of public housing. This is accomplished by increasing residents’ access to services and by facilitating their participation in programs that enhance their economic, physical, social, educational and mental well-being. The Housing Services Manager will promote self-sufficiency for residents of public and assisted housing programs by offering an array of educational and training opportunities including job training, computer centers, the Family Self Sufficiency program, homeownership and youth and teen programs.
