Job Description

Housing Resource Specialist

Town of Vail | Housing Department

Full Salary Range: $86,726.00 - $130,089.00

Expected Hiring Range: $86,726.00 - $108,407.50 DOE

Housing is more than a program—it's one of the most important investments we make in our community.

The Town of Vail is seeking a Housing Resource Specialist who is passionate about helping people navigate housing while protecting the long-term integrity of our workforce housing programs. This highly visible position serves as the primary public-facing representative for the Housing Department, providing education, guidance, and support to residents, property owners, employers, real estate professionals, and community partners.

In this role, you'll balance customer service with compliance by administering deed-restricted housing programs, educating stakeholders, coordinating housing transactions, conducting compliance reviews, and serving as a trusted resource for the community. Whether you're helping a first-time buyer understand a deed restriction, working with lenders on a transaction, or partnering with regional housing organizations, you'll play an essential role in preserving housing opportunities for Vail's workforce.

If you're an exceptional communicator who enjoys building relationships, solving complex problems, and making a meaningful impact in a mountain community, we'd love to hear from you.

Why This Role Exists

The Town of Vail's workforce housing programs — including the InDEED program, the Good Deeds program, and deed-restricted properties at Timber Ridge, Chamonix Vail, and the Residences at Main Vail — represent a significant community investment in keeping year-round workers housed in the valley. As inventory grows, so does the need for dedicated staff to ensure residents understand their obligations, comply with deed restriction requirements, and have a knowledgeable, approachable contact when questions arise.

This position exists to bridge the gap between policy and people — to make sure housing program participants have what they need to remain in good standing, and to proactively reach the employers, lenders, real estate professionals, and community members who shape housing outcomes in Eagle County.

The core purpose of this role is to deliver clarity as a service — and to do it with genuine care. Housing decisions are among the most personal and high-stakes moments in people's lives, and this position exists to make sure no one has to navigate them alone.
