Job Description

Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a Client based in Portsmouth, are looking for an experienced Housing Manager to join their team and play a crucial role within their strategic housing operations.

Position: Housing Manager

Rate: £47.55 per hour (Umbrella)

Contract Duration: Temp (April 2027) Possible Extension

Working Arrangement: Fully Onsite

Purpose:

  • You will support the Director for Housing, Assets and Communities, being responsible for the following functions: Strategic Housing, Housing Needs, Homelessness, Health and Wellbeing; Poverty; Community Development, Substance Misuse; Community Cohesion, Vulnerable People Relocation Scheme and other refugee and asylum seeker programmes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The post holder will be accountable for the effective management of complex housing operations, including support for vulnerable residents, leasehold management, housing management related contract and performance oversight, and ensuring services are financially robust, customer-focused, and continuously improving.
  • Ensure monitoring systems, performance targets, KPI’s and relevant local indicators are in place across the service to achieve service outcomes including mandatory standards and organisational learning.
  • Key responsibilities include delivering the strategic direction for the housing management service, ensuring full statutory and regulatory compliance, and fostering strong relationships with tenants, leaseholders, and stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation - Essential.
  • Professional housing qualification with CPD, e.g. Chartered Institute of Housing membership.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
