Schedule: Full-Time

Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping buildings safe and well-maintained? The YMCA of the North Shore is looking for a Facilities Technician – Housing to support our housing properties and other YMCA locations.

πŸ› οΈ What You'll Do

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and general building repairs.
  • Complete apartment turnovers, including painting, patching, caulking, and minor repairs.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and inspect units and common areas for safety concerns.
  • Maintain outdoor areas, including landscaping, snow removal, and sidewalk safety.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests and document completed work.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies, and coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Communicate with residents and staff to coordinate maintenance needs and priorities.

Qualifications: βœ… Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED/HiSET, or equivalent experience required.
  • 5–10 years of experience in facilities or residential maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
  • Familiarity with housing codes, fire safety regulations, and building maintenance standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues, work independently, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical maintenance tasks.

  • Ability to bend, twist, climb stairs, reach, and lift as needed.
  • Ability to navigate multi-level buildings and uneven indoor and outdoor surfaces.
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Visual and auditory ability to recognize and respond to urgent or emergencies.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required for travel between YMCA locations.
