Summary:
The Housing Development Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting of the organization’s housing development projects. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local funding requirements, maintains accurate records, and supports the finance team in managing project budgets and audits. The position is critical to sustaining the organization’s mission and financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to caring and positive working and living environments for all employees and residents
- Oversee financial transactions for housing development projects, including monthly project draws, invoice approvals, cost certifications audits, escrow closing transactions, and developer fees schedule.
- Monitor project cashflow to ensure timing payments and availability of funds.
- Collaborate with development, property management, and finance teams to track project expenditures
- Perform bank reconciliation for all development projects.
- Record all purchases and sales transactions, escrow transactions for CCH and affiliates.
- Assist Controller in coordinating with external auditors to ensure timely deliverables of audits to meet investor deadlines.
- Input monthly employee benefits into Yardi.
- Record monthly transactions provided by MCC commercial management company into Yardi.
- Assist in property management monthly closing and CCH Corporate closing as needed.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties, including income statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules.
- Provide training on financial reporting and compliance requirements to finance and development staff as needed
- Serve as backup to the Controller when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Finance.
Reporting + Organizational Relationships
This position will be reported directly to the Senior Director of Finance and may supervise the day-to-day activities and staff of one or more functional areas and performs related work as required.
Compensation & Classification
CCH is committed to paying competitive wages. The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $132,000 per year. CCH has a competitive benefits package with health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 8% of an employer contribution for retirement, and more. This is a full-time, exempt position. This position is based at the CCH Central Office - Walnut Creek located at 1855 Olympic Blvd. Suite 200, Walnut Creek, CA 94596.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5 + years of experience in nonprofit real estate accounting, preferably in low -income housing or housing development.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting.
- Proficiency with Yardi construction module, and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
