Houseperson
Help us get our hotel ready to welcome everyone back!
Are you someone who likes to stay busy, enjoys making a space look its best, and doesn’t mind rolling up your sleeves to get the job done? Do you take pride in keeping things clean, organized, and running smoothly?
If so, we’d love to meet you!
As a Houseperson, you’ll be an important part of our team. You’ll help keep our hotel clean, safe, welcoming, and ready for our guests and Ambassadors. Since we are currently completing renovations, this position will also have the opportunity to help prepare the hotel for our reopening. No two days will look exactly the same!
What You'll Be Doing
Keeping Things Clean & Fresh
• Vacuum, shampoo, and spot-clean carpets and upholstery throughout the hotel.
• Clean hallways, stairs, meeting rooms, guest rooms, elevators, Food & Beverage areas, and other public spaces.
• Clean windows, mirrors, glass doors, and glass walls.
• Clean vents, light fixtures, ceilings, and other areas that need a little extra attention.
• Clean guest and service elevators, including floors, walls, mirrors, and ledges.
• Clean public and Ambassador washrooms and keep supplies stocked.
• Clean the Ambassador lunchroom and change rooms.
• Keep sidewalks and the area around the hotel clean and tidy.
• Help with garbage and recycling throughout and around the building.
Helping Our Housekeeping Team
• Keep linen, guest room supplies, amenities, and housekeeping supplies organized and stocked.
• Bring down and sort soiled linen and help load laundry machines when needed.
• Respond to guest requests by delivering items such as extra bedding, cribs, cots, and kitchen supplies.
• Move furniture and other items when needed.
• Help with larger housekeeping projects such as spring cleaning and turning mattresses.
• Report anything that needs repair or attention to the appropriate team member.
Helping During Our Renovations
While we prepare the hotel for reopening, you may also help with:
• Moving furniture throughout the building.
• Completing general cleaning and cleanup duties.
• Helping with minor maintenance tasks.
• Keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Assisting different departments when extra hands are needed.
Helping Keep the Hotel Safe
As we prepare for our reopening, you may also:
• Answer the phone at the front desk and direct calls to the right person.
• Monitor who is entering the building and follow hotel security procedures.
• Respond to fire panel notifications and report or address issues as required.
• Let the appropriate team members know about anything unusual or unsafe.
• Help create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone in the building.
What We're Looking For
You don’t need to know everything on day one! We’re looking for someone who is dependable, willing to learn, and ready to be part of a team.
Ideally, you have:
• Previous hotel housekeeping or janitorial experience. One year of experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person.
• Good time-management and multitasking skills.
• The ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to bend, lift, push, pull, and move furniture and equipment safely.
• A strong focus on cleanliness, safety, and doing a job you can be proud of.
• A commitment to our Coast Hotels values and being part of a team that supports one another.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
