Housekeeper/Laundry Associate

Freedom Village Holland

Pay: $16.00 per hour
Sign-On Bonus: $1,500
Schedule: Full-Time | 2nd Shift (4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.) | Rotating Weekends

The Housekeeper/Laundry Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of resident apartments and common areas while ensuring resident laundry is washed, dried, folded, and delivered promptly. This position plays an important role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Housekeeping

• Clean resident apartments, including:
  • Vacuuming
  • Cleaning kitchens and bathrooms
  • Dusting furniture and surfaces
• Clean hallways and other common areas according to established schedules.
• Complete housekeeping assignments in the priority established by the supervisor.

Laundry

• Wash, dry, fold, and organize resident laundry.
• Deliver clean laundry to designated resident closets.
• Ensure laundry is handled accurately and respectfully.

General Responsibilities

• Maintain housekeeping and laundry equipment and supplies in proper working condition.
• Attend required in-service training and educational programs.
• Maintain resident confidentiality at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand, follow, and communicate instructions in English.
• Previous housekeeping or laundry experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Physical Requirements

• Perform moderate to heavy physical work throughout the majority of the shift.
• Stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day.
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and stretch.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently.
• Push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Operate vacuums and other housekeeping equipment.
• Work in confined spaces around furniture and personal belongings.
• Maintain frequent interaction with residents.
• May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, unpleasant odors, heat, and communicable diseases.
