Overview

The Housekeeping Support Team Member (Houseman) provides essential support to the Housekeeping department by assisting with laundry operations, maintaining cleanliness of common areas and hallways, cleaning guest rooms and closets, and restocking housekeeping and guest supplies. This role ensures guest rooms and public spaces meet Sunday River's cleanliness and presentation standards, and supports Room Attendants and the Housekeeping team to keep operations running smoothly throughout the property. We are seeking full-time seasonal (FTS) and part-time seasonal (PTS) team members to join us and help elevate every guest experience. Day shifts from 8-4 are available. Responsibilities

  • Assist with laundry operations, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and delivering clean linens and towels to housekeeping carts and storage areas.
  • Strip vacated rooms of used linens, towels, and trash to prepare for Room Attendants.
  • Run bins/carts of soiled linens and trash to the laundry and disposal areas throughout the shift, and return supply bins to housekeeping floors.
  • Clean and maintain common areas, hallways, elevators, stairwells, and public restrooms to Sunday River cleanliness standards.
  • Clean vacated and occupied guest rooms as assigned, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing bathrooms.
  • Clean, organize, and restock linen closets and supply closets on each floor.
  • Restock guest room supplies (toiletries, linens, coffee/tea amenities) and housekeeping cart supplies throughout shifts.
  • Monitor and report low inventory of housekeeping and guest supplies to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Transport soiled linens and trash to designated disposal/laundry areas; transport clean linens back to floor closets.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests for additional items (towels, pillows, etc.) as directed.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damage found in guest rooms or common areas to the Supervisor.
  • Housekeeping team members with heavy lifting, turning mattresses, moving furniture, and deep-cleaning projects as needed.
  • Follow all safety guidelines for chemical handling, use of cleaning equipment, and lifting/carrying procedures.
  • Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with guests throughout the property.

Complete daily stretches and maintain and work within safety protocols.

  • Other assignments from housekeeping and lodging leadership.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check.
  • No prior housekeeping experience required. All training is provided on the job.
  • Ability to keep a positive outlook.
  • Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time, perform repetitive motions, including bending, stooping, climbing and descending stairs, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 70 lbs.
  • Must be available to work on specified days during the busiest times of the season, which include weekends and holidays.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Wages range from $15.50 to $20 per hour, with service fees based on quality and quantity of rooms cleaned, plus gratuities. We also offer opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
