Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, presentation, and overall guest experience of the hotel. This position is responsible for supervising daily housekeeping operations, ensuring guest rooms and public areas meet brand standards, and supporting housekeeping team members through coaching, training, and performance oversight.

The Housekeeping Supervisor works closely with housekeeping leadership to ensure operational efficiency, quality control, and consistent service excellence, while fostering a positive, respectful, and accountable team environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise daily housekeeping operations, including guest room attendants, housepersons, and laundry staff as assigned

  • Inspect guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to hotel and brand standards

  • Assign daily room boards and work assignments based on occupancy and staffing levels

  • Coach, train, and support housekeeping associates to ensure proper cleaning techniques, safety practices, and service expectations

  • Address guest requests, service recovery opportunities, and housekeeping-related concerns promptly and professionally

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards, including proper chemical handling and OSHA guidelines

  • Assist with inventory control of linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies

  • Communicate effectively with Front Office, Engineering, and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations

  • Document and report maintenance issues, lost and found items, and performance concerns as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous housekeeping or hotel supervisory experience preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with a diverse team

  • Working knowledge of hotel cleaning standards and safety procedures

  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as needed
