Position Title: Housekeeping Supervisor ONT Field

Department: Operations

Reports To: Housekeeping Manager

Classification: Part time, Non-exempt

Compensation: $27.00 an hour

Please note that the ONT Field employees are covered by a collective bargaining agreement with Unite Here Local 11, and a condition of employment is a union membership.

The ONT Field is a breath-taking venue managed by Legends Global, one of the world’s largest property management companies is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor. Under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager, responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and cleanliness of the Ontario Convention Center.


Essential Functions:

• Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of employees.
• Schedules staff according to event orders.
• Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
• Makes rounds to check for crew coverage of designated work areas, assigns needed coverage, gives special cleaning instructions and/or assignments, and ascertains compliance with directives.
• Determines material, supplies, and equipment needs; completes requisitions for cleaning supplies, equipment repairs and materials.
• Responds to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provides information and service within the area of event orders; resolves complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
• Completes work order requests as received from the work order system.
• Ensures that safety plans are fully in place, that all custodians and contract staff are trained on proper safety issues, and that all safety policies are followed.
• Attends staff training and safety meetings.
• Assists with the annual department budget preparation.
• Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work.
• Cleans floors, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and waxing.
• Cleans bathrooms, including sinks, mirrors, urinals, toilets, and walls.
• Dusts areas that contain furniture, such as offices, cleans windows.


Experience Required: Minimum four years housekeeping experience including 2 yrs. Supervisory experience. Hotel Experience Preferred.

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:
Safe work practices
General cleaning procedures

Ability to:
Read, write, and speak English
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Work in a team atmosphere
Maintain a professional demeanor at all times

Skill to:
Operate radio devices
Operate equipment, scrubbers (riding and walk behind), sweepers (riding), vacuums, etc.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

This position requires standing, walking, bending and lifting 25lbs. throughout the day

as well as working at the computer; irregular hours will be required. May be required to work with hazardous chemicals/substances. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move

around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear.

This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.


This position requires stooping and lifting. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours. Must be able to pass background.
