Job Description
Supervise work activities of Housekeeping staff to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive environment of the facility. Assign duties, inspect work, and investigate complaints regarding Housekeeping service and equipment and take corrective action at the direction of the Manager. May purchase housekeeping supplies and equipment, screen applicants, train new employees, and recommend dismissals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interview and select new employees for Housekeeping roles in conjunction with the manager.
- Orient and train workers in policies and procedures and demonstrate proper equipment use.
- Arrange and adjust work schedules for daily needs, keeping accurate time records for staff.
- Assist with reviews and evaluations of staff as needed.
- Conduct walkthroughs and inspections of assigned areas, addressing concerns as needed.
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed by staff, addressing deviations as needed.
- Maintain Housekeeping uniform inventory and distribution.
- Maintain Housekeeping supply and equipment inventory.
- Ensure hazardous waste and drugs are disposed of properly.

Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Must have valid state-issued driver’s license and be insurable according to our automotive insurance company’s criteria, to operate all MCC vehicles including rented equipment.
- Minimum education requirement is high school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in a coordinator, team leader, or supervisor role in an environmental services position, with prior experience in healthcare preferred.

- PC literate in windows environment; ability to use a variety of software applications to include but not necessarily limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Express and the Internet.
- Proficient in use of English language both in written and verbal communication.
- Must be able to communicate with individuals of varying socio-economic backgrounds.

- Strength (Lift/Carry/Push/Pull): Light Medium (exerting up to 25 pounds of force on a consistent basis throughout the assigned work schedule)

- Ability to look at a computer screen occasionally.
- Ability to perform repetitive hands and finger motions.
- Ability to work in various positions (standing, sitting, bending, and walking) for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to walk, stoop, climb, lift, mop/vacuum large areas, push and pull as required to perform assigned tasks.
- Must be able to ambulate as necessary in an eleven-story building and around a multi-building campus.
