Mission:
Independently perform basic operating tasks in his/her unit/department, in keeping with the instructions provided by his/her supervisor, in order to satisfy the project’s needs.
They are responsible for the performance of service contracts. They plan, optimise and supervise the usage of resources to ensure that the services are rendered on time, with the prescribed specifications and cost. Their most common duties include: Managing contracts, drawing up budget estimates, planning and establishing the phases of the service, supervising the activities of the sub-contractors, the subordinate staff and the workers, verifying the quality of the work throughout all phases of the service, etc.

Required Skills and Competencies


The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all housekeeping activities within the manufacturing facility to ensure a clean, safe, and compliant environment. This role involves supervising housekeeping staff, maintaining cleanliness standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and optimizing cleaning operations for efficiency and effectiveness. Must be able to work 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

Housekeeping Operations Management:

  • Plan, schedule, and manage daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning activities for the manufacturing facility.
  • Develop and implement cleaning procedures, policies, and schedules to meet safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Ensure cleanliness of production areas, restrooms, breakrooms, offices, and other facility spaces.

Team Supervision and Coordination:

  • Be part of recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate housekeeping staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to cleaning standards.
  • Assign tasks and monitor the performance of the housekeeping team, providing feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss goals, issues, and improvement opportunities.

Health, Safety, and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with CCA audits, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct inspections of housekeeping operations to ensure safety standards are met, including proper handling and disposal of cleaning chemicals and materials.
  • Participate in safety audits and emergency preparedness efforts.

Inventory and Resource Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Place orders for necessary supplies and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of cleaning equipment.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve housekeeping processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions for maintaining cleanliness in manufacturing environments. (CCA)
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure GMS principles are observed on cleaning activities.

Record Keeping and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, inspections, inventory, and staff performance.
  • Prepare and present reports on housekeeping performance, compliance, and improvement initiatives to management.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to align housekeeping efforts with operational needs.
  • Address and resolve housekeeping issues or concerns raised by employees or management.

Special Projects and Additional Duties:

  • Lead or participate in special cleaning projects, including deep cleaning of production areas or facility expansions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functionality and appearance of the facility.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate or bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of housekeeping experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment.
    • At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
    • Union knowledge is preferred
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Computer skills
    • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment used in industrial environments.
    • Familiarity with OSHA standards and other health and safety regulations.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office or facility management software.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily works in a manufacturing environment, requiring adherence to PPE and safety standards.
  • May involve exposure to industrial cleaning chemicals, machinery, and varying temperature conditions.
  • Requires physical activity, including walking, standing, and occasionally lifting cleaning equipment or supplies.
