HUALAPAI PREFERENCE Position:                      Housekeeping Supervisor - Lodge

Supervisor:                  Housekeeping Manager - Lodge  Disclaimer: Position Description is not meant to encompass all aspects of position, other duties may be assigned.    Supervises a team of Room and Laundry Attendants providing custodial services for rooms and public areas at the Hualapai Lodge.  Ensures that the team is providing outstanding customer service by providing duties such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping of floors, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, changing bed linens and towels, restocking amenities, cleaning windows, windowsills, mirrors and trash collection.  Responsible for seeing that all equipment is in clean, safe and operable condition and that the team is using proper safety and health procedures in the use of all chemicals.  Ensures proper security measures are followed in all rooms maintained. Responsible for proper cleaning, washing, folding and storing of laundry.  Coordination of daily work schedules of team.   Knowledge and Abilities:
  1. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and interact with guests and staff in a clear, concise manner providing prompt, outstanding customer service.
  2. Ability to physically complete custodial duties such as vacuuming, mopping, cleaning and sanitizing rest room facilities, laundry activities, collecting trash, and cleaning windows and mirrors.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning products and chemicals, proper security and safety policies and procedures. Ability to train others on products, chemicals, policies and procedures. 
  4. Ability to routinely walk, stand, bend and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  5. Demonstrated ability to foster a team environment, multi-task effectively and maintain positive working relationships. 
  6. Ability to lead, coach, train and develop Room and Laundry Attendants all aspects of their jobs. 
 Duties & Responsibilities:1.      Direct supervision of Room and Laundry Attendant team.  Coordinate daily work schedules for staff.  Assist with team duties when necessary.2.      Ensure proper security, safety, health and sanitation policies and procedures are in place and being used for the safety of guests and staff.3.      Lead, coach, train, develop and motivate team members.4.      Responsible for cleaning supplies, linen and equipment stock inventory. 5.      Inspect rooms to ensure Room Attendants are performing all duties and address any issues or give acknowledgement for a job well done to employees. 6.      Perform regular and timely Performance Evaluation discussions and documentation with members of team and promote team environment while providing individual growth opportunities.7.      Ensure all communications are shared with employees in a timely and accurate manner as appropriate.8.      Answer visitors’ questions and share information about Hualapai history and culture.9.      Foster a team environment, multi-task efficiently and maintain positive working relationships.10.  Keep the Housekeeping Manager - Lodge apprised of all issues and concerns.11.  Perform other work-related duties as assigned.  Qualifications:1.      Good oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. 2.      Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.3.      High School Diploma or GED.     4.      Experience providing customer service preferred.5.      Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.  Working Conditions:Must be able to routinely walk, stand, bend and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs. Must be able to work varying schedules, weekends and holidays.
