Job Description

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The ideal Housekeeping Shift Leader for Bear Creek is a guest service focused individual with the ability to help create a positive, memorable experience for our guests. The successful team member will lead the assigned shift of the housekeeping team to ensure an exceptional and welcoming environment for our hotel guests. They must be able to work with their team as well as individually, have good communication skills, be detail oriented and foster the Bear Creek culture by focusing on our guests. This position will be an important member of the housekeeping team, as they will help lead the team to ensure that the guest rooms meet the high standards, creating a clean, welcoming and relaxing environment helping to create a memorable experience.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

Leadership and Team Engagement:

  • Promote and foster a culture of team member engagement
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for questions regarding housekeeping procedures, standards, equipment, supplies, and hotel expectations.
  • Assist with training new team members.
  • Reinforce established safety, service, attendance, and procedures.
  • Recognize team member accomplishments and communicate performance concerns to the Housekeeping Manager/Supervisor.

Operations Management and Quality Control:

  • Coordinate daily housekeeping assignments and priorities based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, and operational needs.
  • Provide direction, support, and coaching to Housepersons and Inspectors.
  • Monitor work throughout the shift and adjust assignments as needed to meet priorities.
  • Inspect guest rooms and assigned areas to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and hotel standards are met.
  • Follow up on rooms or areas requiring additional cleaning or attention.
  • Communicate important information between shifts and assist the Housekeeping Manager/Supervisor with departmental needs.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as needed to support the team and department operations.
  • Monitor housekeeping supplies, equipment, and linen needs and communicate shortages or issues to the manager.

Guest Experience & Resort Collaboration:

  • Respond professionally to guest requests and housekeeping-related concerns.
  • Communicate room status, maintenance concerns, guest requests, and other operational needs to the appropriate departments or manager.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance guest experience.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Manager

Qualifications

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM ALL BCMR TEAM MEMBERS:

  • Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day. Ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor
  • Familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
  • Understand emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary
  • Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/Supervisor
  • Support Southern Management's Mission, Vision, and Values; comply with BCMR and SMC policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 1 year of Housekeeping or Resort Services preferred
  • Minimum 6 months of leadership experience preferred
  • Availability during peak operating times, i.e.: weekends, holidays and special events

JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to communicate professionally with team members, guests and other departments
  • Ability to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and guest satisfaction
  • Technical knowledgeable or competency in necessary systems and software: Microsoft Office, Payroll, Time and Attendance, and Recruiting software.
