The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role supports infection-control standards, enhances resident comfort, and contributes to the overall quality of care in the facility.
Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, dining spaces, therapy areas, and offices.
Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect surfaces according to facility protocols.
Perform deep-cleaning tasks as scheduled (e.g., high dusting, floor care, wall washing).
Handle contaminated linens, waste, and biohazard materials following safety guidelines.
Ensure cleaning chemicals are used and stored safely.
Interact with residents in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner.
Respond to housekeeping requests from residents and nursing staff.
Support resident comfort by maintaining a tidy and organized living environment.
Collect, sort, and distribute linens and laundry as needed.
Restock housekeeping carts and supply closets.
Report maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
Follow daily cleaning schedules, checklists, and facility policies.
Maintain records when required (e.g., cleaning logs, supply usage).
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare or long-term care is a plus.
Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and infection control.
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 30–50 lbs and stand for long periods.
Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
Compassionate and respectful attitude toward elderly and rehabilitating residents
