Job Description

Housekeeping Manager

Superior Shores Resort | Two Harbors, Minnesota

At Superior Shores, a great guest experience starts long before a guest walks through the door. A clean, comfortable, and welcoming room sets the tone for an entire stay—and our Housekeeping team plays a huge part in making that happen.

We’re looking for a Housekeeping Manager who takes pride in creating a beautiful, comfortable environment for our guests while building and leading a strong housekeeping team. Located along the stunning North Shore of Lake Superior, Superior Shores is a busy resort where no two days are exactly alike.

As Housekeeping Manager, you’ll oversee the daily operation of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring guest rooms, public areas, and resort spaces meet our standards for cleanliness, presentation, and hospitality. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working with people, staying organized, and taking pride in the details.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping Department
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop housekeeping team members
  • Create daily and weekly schedules based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, and business needs
  • Assign rooms and daily tasks to housekeeping team members
  • Inspect guest rooms, common areas, and other resort spaces to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are met
  • Follow up on guest requests, room concerns, and housekeeping-related service issues
  • Work closely with the Front Desk and resort leadership to communicate room status, priorities, special requests, and guest needs
  • Coordinate room turns and prioritize work based on arrivals, departures, and resort occupancy
  • Maintain appropriate levels of housekeeping supplies, linens, amenities, and cleaning products
  • Monitor inventory and place orders as needed
  • Maintain proper organization of housekeeping storage areas and supply rooms
  • Ensure housekeeping equipment is properly maintained and report maintenance concerns promptly
  • Establish and maintain cleaning standards, procedures, and checklists
  • Train team members on proper cleaning procedures, safety practices, guest service, and resort standards
  • Coach employees and address performance concerns in partnership with resort leadership and Human Resources
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable health and safety standards
  • Help ensure proper handling and documentation of lost and found items
  • Respond to guest needs and resolve concerns with professionalism and care
  • Assist with deep cleaning, special projects, inspections, and other housekeeping duties as needed
  • Support seasonal staffing and help build a dependable, service-focused housekeeping team
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure the entire resort is guest-ready
  • Lead by example and be willing to jump in and help the team when needed
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the overall operation of the resort

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous housekeeping, hotel, or resort experience
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and creating a great guest experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to train, coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a positive, solutions-focused attitude
  • Comfortable working hands-on alongside the housekeeping team
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays during peak resort periods
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift

About Leisure Hotels & Resorts

Passion Drives Us, But Reason Holds the Reins

While delivering service and hospitality is in our dna, what really sets the team at Leisure Hotels and Resorts apart is the orchestration, development and management of our passion for hospitality. Without understanding how to manage guest service, resort activities and the complexities involved in lodging properties, passion is simply an empty promise.

Our approach with every operating environment is both completely the same and altogether different. Our fundamentals are rooted in honesty, transparency, fiscal responsibility and talent management and we bring that to role and every opportunity.

But what sets us apart is the range of opportunities we’ve been exposed to.

From indoor waterparks, fine-dining restaurants, fly fishing lodges and ski resorts, to 5-star hotels, homeowner associations, indoor climbing facilities, golf courses and spas, there is very little within the global hospitality industry that we haven’t seen, managed or helped succeed.

Let us put our passion, and our practicality, to work for you.
