Job Description

We’re People People. Are you?

We’re Sonesta International Hotels—the 8th largest hotel company in the U.S. (and growing fast 🚀).

With a dynamic mix of full-service and focused hotels across major cities, our diverse portfolio of owned, managed, and franchised properties means we’re everywhere our guests need us to be.

But here’s the thing—we’re not just in the business of hotels, we’re in the business of people. We bring service with passion, loyalty with purpose, and create experiences that genuinely connect—delivering quality, value, and memorable stays across 1,000+ properties in eight countries (and counting).

What this role is all about

Clean, comfortable, and welcoming spaces are a huge part of creating memorable guest experiences — and our Housekeeping teams help make that happen every day. As the Housekeeping Manager, you’ll help lead housekeeping and laundry operations while ensuring guest rooms and public spaces consistently meet the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hospitality.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and enjoys balancing team leadership, operational coordination, service standards, and guest satisfaction. You’ll support housekeeping operations across guest rooms, public areas, laundry, and back-of-house spaces while partnering closely with Front Office, Engineering, and hotel leadership teams to keep the hotel guest-ready at all times.

If you’re organized, service-driven, and passionate about hospitality leadership — we’d love to meet you.

What you’ll be doing

The Housekeeping Manager will report directly to the Executive Housekeeper. This position serves as the department’s second in command and assumes full operational leadership when the Executive Housekeeper is absent.

  • Support daily housekeeping and laundry operations across guest rooms, suites, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and hotel facilities.
  • Supervise, train, coach, schedule, and support housekeeping and laundry team members to deliver exceptional cleanliness and guest experience standards.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and operational spaces to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and brand standards are consistently maintained.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction, room readiness, service recovery situations, and housekeeping operational performance throughout shifts.
  • Partner closely with Front Office, Engineering, Operations, and hotel leadership teams to support smooth hotel operations and guest readiness.
  • Support housekeeping productivity, labor management, inventory organization, linen control, and departmental operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel operational procedures, sanitation standards, OSHA regulations, chemical handling guidelines, and safety policies.
  • Assist with onboarding, employee engagement, training, scheduling, and team development initiatives within the department.
  • Monitor housekeeping supplies, operational equipment, storage organization, and cleanliness across workspaces and service areas.
  • Support VIP arrivals, group business, deep cleaning projects, room inspections, and special operational initiatives as needed.
  • Help foster a collaborative, energetic, and guest-focused culture aligned with Sonesta’s People People philosophy.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

What great looks like

  • Previous housekeeping, hotel operations, hospitality, laundry, or facilities experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience within housekeeping or hospitality operations preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, room inspection standards, laundry operations, inventory management, and hospitality service standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness, operational consistency, and guest satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of sanitation procedures, OSHA regulations, chemical handling standards, and hotel safety policies preferred.
  • Experience using housekeeping management systems, hotel operational systems, or reporting tools preferred.
  • Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call support as needed.
  • A passion for hospitality, leadership, teamwork, operational excellence, and creating exceptional guest experiences.
