Oversees daily housekeeping operations within corporate and resort guidelines to ensure quality standards and total guest satisfaction. Oversees the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure all guest units, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. This role focuses on managing unit turns, owner satisfaction, and quality consistency to support the resort’s reputation and brand standards. The Housekeeping Manager leads, trains, and motivates a housekeeping team to deliver exceptional service to both owners and guests.

As a Housekeeping Manager, you will:

  • Supervise and motivate all housekeeping supervisors, providing daily oversight including staffing, training, discipline, scheduling, and monitoring performance to meet service and productivity standards and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Assign duties to housekeepers, housemen, and supervisors; review work for accuracy, neatness, and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Complete assigned projects and maintain detailed records of progress.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and supervisors, both verbally and in writing, providing clear guidance on work details; organize, conduct, or attend meetings to share and gather relevant information.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with Westgate Resorts standards to ensure successful job performance.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and provide career development for housekeeping staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to employees.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, following up to ensure satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Front Office and Maintenance teams to ensure timely readiness and quick turnaround of units.
  • Maintain a professional image through appearance and adherence to Westgate grooming standards.
  • Follow and effectively communicate company philosophies, policies, and procedures to subordinates.
  • Conduct training sessions on safety, security, departmental procedures, and service guidelines.
  • Monitor staff productivity, daily cleans, and provide pre-shift updates to the team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including assisting with room cleaning if short-handed.

Qualifications

  • Two years of previous experience in a similar role is preferred, demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move objects weighing up to 35 pounds

  • Experience in the relevant industry or work environment is beneficial.
