Salary Range: $16.54 Hourly

Travel Percentage: NoneSCOPE OF POSITION:

The Housekeeping Lead position is located in the Housekeeping Department at the Comanche Red River Hotel – Casino and has the authority to act as the Hotel Supervisor in his/her absence. The hotel is a 3 story, 87 room hotel. The Housekeeping Lead provides assistance to the Housekeeping Supervisor and performs in accordance with the Comanche Nation Entertainment’s Mission Statement, objectives of the organization, and established policies, procedures and controls. The Housekeeping Lead’s performance is necessary for the hotel and the casino to reach their full potential of providing a superior experience for hotel and casino guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following are major duties and are not intended to be all inclusive or restrictive.

  • Responsible for assisting the Hotel Supervisor in ensuring guests are satisfied with hotel cleanliness; responding to guest needs; ensuring safety and security of rooms; maintaining inventory and cost controls; selecting, training, maintaining, and managing a motivated and skilled workforce. Maintains a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and management.
  • Responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in all guest rooms and public areas and promoting safety and good guest relations.
  • Performs the duties of the Housekeeping Supervisor in his/her absence.
  • Conducts daily inspections to ensure jobs are done safely and correctly, and that standards are met.
  • Orders cleaning supplies, linens, and chemicals, with Management’s approval. Maintains inventory of supplies and ensures staff follows proper inventory/cost control procedures.
  • Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and reports them to Housekeeping Supervisor and/or takes corrective action.
  • Performs cleaning of rooms and assisting in laundry work in the event of staff shortage
  • Conducts training on work procedures and demonstrates use and maintenance of equipment for hotel staff, including all newly hired. Is knowledgeable of all components of guest service guarantee and trains staff to meet service standards.
  • Identify the developmental needs of staff to enhance staff knowledge and skills.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Housekeeping Lead works in a hotel and office setting. The Housekeeping Lead regularly engages in conversations with clients and regularly is required to remain in a stationary position 50 percent of the time. Work is performed throughout all areas of the facility where the noise level varies from quiet to loud depending upon business. Housekeeping Lead must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays and in a smoke-filled environment. The workplace is also under constant surveillance both inside and outside the facility.

Duties may include pulling and using cleaning chemicals. Employees may work alone or closely with others. Work is completed in all areas of hotel. Employees may be required to do lifting and/or carrying. Must be capable of working in a fast paced environment and under stressful situations. Must respond to multiple task interruptions and still provide service to internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner. Administrative duties may require sitting at a computer for extended periods.

The Housekeeping Lead may be exposed to risks associated with resolving contentious issues with guests or staff members

The qualified candidate must be at least 18 years of age and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, OR possess 2 years or more of hotel housekeeping experience or similar experience.

Creditable work experience must indicate that the candidate is able to work with little supervision; possess good judgment and decision-making skills; and self-motivated. Further, excellent oral and writing communications skills; information analysis; and problem-solving skills must be indicated in candidate’s work experience.
