Job Location: WDI - Durham, NC 27705
Position Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $20.00Responsibilities: Complete various custodial tasks while maintaining the highest standard of cleanliness and quality guest service.
Duties:
1. Reports to work dressed in proper attire and on time following proper clock in/out procedure as outlined in the employee handbook.
2. Communicate by radio with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Engineering to facilitate guest requests and Housekeeping/Engineering needs.
3. Cleans Upper and Lower Terrace, as well as front entrance and sidewalks at front entrance daily prior to going to the floors.
4. Ensures cleanliness of all guest tower corridors.
5. Ensures stocking of all linen closets for next day prior to end of shift.
6. Assists with special exterior cleaning projects as needed.
7. Assists with proper placement of chairs and tables as needed.
8. Assists the Housekeeping Department in the maintenance of all guest’s room, public areas and storage areas.
9. Dusts chairs, tables, shelves and other furniture and equipment. Washes windows, walls, woodwork and blinds.
10. Cleans and polishes furniture and collects and disposes of wastepaper and refuse. Cleans outside of guest room doors, hall lights, and hall vents. Removes all newspapers off of guest floors by 1:00pm. Removes all dishtub items throughout the day.
11. Exchanges dirty glasses with clean ones.
12. Moves equipment, supplies and furniture; replaces light bulbs and sets up other equipment as needed. Assists in turning mattresses, moving furniture and TV’s if needed.
13. Assists the Room Attendants in supplying all floors and guest’s rooms with proper materials. Strips guest rooms and dumps soiled linen as necessary.
14. Monitors and maintains back of house areas at all times. Vacuum hallways daily. Reports all damage and missing equipment to the Executive Housekeeper or Manager on Duty.
15. Stocks linen closet to comply with housekeeping standards.
16. Ensures compliance with the house rules, safety rules and departmental procedures. Uses correct hotel procedures for all equipment required to complete the work day.
17. Maintain guest room corridors including walls. Vacuum corridors daily.
18. Sets up cribs and rollaway’s according to procedure.
19. Continuously updates and monitors guest service board.
20. Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper, Manager or supervisors.
This
is an overview of daily responsibilities you are required to perform. Management has the right to add or delete responsibilities as they occur.
NOTE: This hotel operates seven days a week, twenty four hours a day. I am aware that at times it will be necessary to move me from my accustomed shift if business demands. I also understand that business determines the amount of hours I work. Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.

QualificationsPhysical Demands: Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent bending, lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 100 pounds. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
Math Skills: Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to perform basic addition and subtraction.
Language Skills: Must have developed English language skills to the point to be able to professionally deal with guests and communicate with employees effectively.
