Houseperson

Then you’ll feel right at home in our Housekeeping Department, where a team of friendly, hardworking Room Attendants and Housepersons work together to present every guest with a piece of “home.” In the role of Houseperson you will:
• Focus on Details – Walk the areas assigned to you each shift to ensure all public areas remain clean, tidy, and welcoming—elevators, guestroom landings, vending areas, restrooms, and more. Report anything missing, damaged, or in need of repair.
• Be Organized – Keep assigned closets and storage areas fully stocked, clean, and crisp.
• Be a Team Player – Assist Room Attendants by delivering supplies, removing linens and trash, and helping with heavy lifting when needed.
• Be a Housekeeping Ambassador – Offer warm greetings and a friendly smile to every guest you encounter, helping create a positive and memorable experience.
• Be a Safety & Security Agent – Follow all established safety and security procedures. Anticipate problems, respond appropriately, and alert management when necessary.
Job Requirements
Prior housekeeping experience helpful
Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally / 50 lbs frequently
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move for long periods
Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail
Schedule Requirements:
This position is primarily overnight (10:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Must be able to train on day shifts as needed to support additional coverage
Job Duties
In addition to the responsibilities above, essential duties include:
Approach all guest and employee interactions in a warm, friendly, service-oriented manner
Comply at all times with New Castle policies and safety regulations
Review daily assignments and complete all tasks thoroughly
Gather all cleaning supplies and return them at the end of each shift
Complete all assigned cleaning duties in designated public areas and service corridors
Report engineering or maintenance issues promptly
Return all borrowed items (irons, ironing boards, hairdryers, etc.) to Housekeeping
Vacuum carpets in public areas
Restock and maintain housekeeping closets, including linens and amenities
Remove wall marks, gum, and floor spots using proper chemicals
Clean glass, windows, pictures, and public telephone areas
Clean and maintain public restrooms, replacing supplies as needed
Complete closet inventory
Sign keys in and out according to hotel procedures
Empty housekeeping carts of dirty linen, trash, and recyclables
Assist with floor care as directed
Keep supervisors informed of challenges or issues requiring attention
Gain knowledge of all hotel facilities to assist guests with questions
