Summary of Functions
Responsible for cleaning and restores carpet and upholstery in guestrooms and facilities in accordance with Northern Quest Resort and Casino policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensures compliance with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians- Internal Controls and Northern Quest Resort and Casino Policies and Procedures.
• Uphold AAA 4-Diamond service standards across all interactions.
• Maintains a positive upbeat attitude, being highly “in tune” to guest questions and needs. Works to ensure that guest inquiries, concerns, or complaints are properly handled. Anticipates the guests’ needs.
• Receives work orders and schedules from supervisor
• Cleans carpet, upholstery, floors, draperies, and room accessories to remove effects of smoke and water damage, dirt, soot, stains, mildew and excess water and moisture.
• Places fans and dehumidifiers in strategic room locations to remove moisture from carpet, upholstery and air.
• Verifies moisture presence and removal with moisture sensor.
• Sprays or fogs carpet, upholstery, and accessories with fabric conditioners and protectors, deodorizers, and disinfectants.
• Cleans and maintains hard floors with daily scrubbing and buffing.
• Restores hard floors with routine/scheduled stripping and re-waxing.
• Inspects completed restoration to ensure conformance to standards.
• Coordinates inspection, entrance, tear down, setup, and inventory with vendors.
• Maintain housekeeping equipment including vacuums, sweepers, extractors, buffers, etc.
• Maintains inventory levels and coordinate orders with the Floor Supervisor.
• Coordinates room availability with Floor Supervisor.
• Schedules projects in coordination with the Floor Supervisor.
• Maintains work order logs.
• Take care of equipment and supplies issued in conjunction with cleaning activities.
• Immediately report all damages, missing items, items not working, and items found in guestrooms and suites to Floor Supervisor.
• Responsible for passkey issued daily, making sure it is secured at all times.
• Keep work area and cart in a clean, dry, and organized manner.
• Provide anticipatory service in a thoughtful and intuitive way, notating special requests made by guests.
• Exhibit a genuine sense of interest and concern for the guests.
• Presents a friendly, professional, non-rushed approach.
• Provide exceptional service to customers and employees when performing job duties.
• Conduct oneself in a professional and businesslike manner to reflect Northern Quest’s high standard of excellence.
• Works as a team with other associates to maintain the highest service standards available.
• Use proper interpersonal skills when engaging with customers and employees.
• Share information with other departments to facilitate their successful performance.
• Ensure guest confidentiality standards are followed.
• Have knowledge of all hotel emergency procedures.
• Comply with hotel safety and loss control procedures.
• Ensure control/protection of company assets.
• Responsible for maintaining regular attendance and punctuality.
• Maintain Four Diamond service standards.
• Fulfill any reasonable work requested by a manager or supervisor, completing it accurately and in a timely manner.
• Fill in for any duties in the resort as needed, including but not limited to the following: Guest Room Attendant, House Attendant, Maintenance, RV Cottage Attendant, and RV Site & Setup Attendant.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Experience
• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three-to-six-month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of chemicals used for carpeting and hard floor care.
• Operation and maintenance of carpet and floor care equipment preferred.
Skills & Abilities
• Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft programs and other computer software.
• Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department heads and employees.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Education
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Other Requirements
• Hepatitis A & B shots
• Obtain and maintain [License or Work Permit Level].
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to tobacco smoke, flashing lights, and loud noises as found in a casino setting. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, repetitive motions, extreme cold or extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
