Housekeeping

As a Housekeeping staff member, we are committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment for our patients, clients, and associates. The Housekeeping staff plays a critical role in upholding disease control protocols and ensuring the hospital operates efficiently.

This position is responsible for facility cleaning, laundry services, general maintenance, and inventory management, including receiving and stocking medical supplies. While this is a non-clinical role, Housekeeping is essential to supporting patient care through attention to detail and adherence to cleanliness and safety standards.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Compassion for pets and people
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent communication, listening, and customer service skills
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in an environment with potential hazards (allergens, noise, odors, animal waste, etc.)
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks (bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, scrubbing, sweeping, mopping)
  • Attention to detail and ability to observe fine differences
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under stressful conditions
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to process information quickly and accurately
  • Willingness to ask for help and work collaboratively

Duties and Responsibilities
The Housekeeping staff is integral to hospital operations and patient safety. Responsibilities include:

  • Perform daily cleaning and disinfection of kennels, cages, hospital, grounds, and public spaces following strict disease control protocols
  • Maintain and restock cleaning and kennel supplies
  • Receive, process, and stock incoming shipments
  • Manage laundry, including washing, folding, and restocking throughout the hospital
  • Maintain overall facility cleanliness and organization
  • Ensure surgery areas are properly stocked for medical teams
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Schedule
Thursday - Sunday 5 am - 3 pm.

Compensation
$17.00 – $19.00 per hour (based on experience), plus shift differential for weekend days.
