Join our dedicated team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Northwest Campus as a Housekeeper! In this vital role, you'll ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of office and clinical buildings, performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and restroom cleaning. Your efforts will help maintain a safe environment by replenishing supplies, removing trash, and reporting maintenance needs to supervisors. This position is classified as essential personnel and may require overtime to meet departmental demands. Be part of Arkansas’ only academic health center—a leader in education, research, and clinical care—and help improve health outcomes across the state.
High School diploma/GED
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment operation.
Ability to follow instructions, both oral and written.
Proficiency in using cleaning supplies and maintaining equipment.
Strong customer service attitude and effective communication skills.
Ability to work independently, multitask, and establish priorities.
Physical capability to perform tasks such as bending, lifting, and reaching for extended periods.
Awareness of safety compliance and accountability for assigned tasks.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry weight: 26 - 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two (2) years of housekeeping/janitorial experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Empty waste receptacles and replace waste liners.
Sweeps, mops, and buffs floors
Vacuums and shampoo rugs
Strips and refinishes floors, as needed.
Cleans bathroom basins, fixtures, mirrors, stall doors, toilets, showers, vents, and stocks bathroom with soap, toilet tissue, and paper towels.
Clean areas requiring special cleaning methods (Patient beds, exam tables, IV poles, wheelchairs, carts, and surgical lighting) by use of specific cleansers, sterilized equipment, and/or disposing of contaminated wastes.
Collects and sends dirty linens and towels to laundry.
Disposal and transport of solid waste.
Clean vertical and horizontal surfaces (Seating, table-tops, desks, sinks, doors, dispensers, water fountains, vents, bedside tables, IV poles, light switches, floors, walls, windows, etc.).
Clean restrooms (faucets, sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, stall partitions, receptacles, etc.)
Serves as liaison between all customers, patients, nurses, researchers, and students.
Participates in internal activities and/or training as required or suggested by the institution/department.
May perform other duties as assigned
