Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and friendly Housekeepers with an eye for detail to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning activities in accordance with company and brand standards.
This position is offering a $500 Hiring Bonus, subject to applicable tax withholdings. $250 to be paid out after 3 months of employment and the remaining $250 after 6 months of employment.
General Responsibilities:
- Receive list of assigned rooms from manager and prioritize rooms
- Clean, stock and maintain assigned guest rooms according to Colwen and brand standards of cleanliness
- Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments
- Check the inventory of cleaning cart and add necessary supplies; transport cart to assigned floor/rooms
- Ensure privacy of guests at all times
- Knock and announce self before entering assigned guest rooms; return at a later time if room is occupied
- Check amenities and supplies in rooms, restock according to standards
- Neatly make beds and stock bath linens according to standard
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchen, and/or coffee stations
- Remove all trash, dirty linens, towels and room service items from rooms
- Check that all appliances are in the room and in clean working order
- Straighten desk area and furniture
- Dust, polish furniture and remove marks/stains from walls and furnishings
- Vacuum carpets and clean floors
- Notify maintenance department of needed maintenance or repairs
- Ensure room meets hotel standards with final walk around
- Ensure soiled linens are laundered, which may include loading hotel washers and dryers and folding sheets and towels
- Take found items to designated lost and found area
- Attend to the cleaning process of hotel linens according to Colwen and brand standards.
- Wash, dry, and fold hotel linens and terry as well as treating stains to minimize loss.
- Store, inventory, issue, and distribute hotel linens.
- Operate washing and drying equipment, load and unload laundry from machines.
- Measure and administer cleaning agents to laundry according to product specifications.
- Inspect used laundry for stains and repairs before washing.
- Monitor feeder information on washer, make sure all drums are full and report any irregularities to supervisor.
- Set the proper drying and cooling times for various types of linen.
- Fold laundry.
- Count and assemble laundered items.
- Assist in monthly linen inventories.
- Addressing any public area cleanliness concerns when they need attention.
- Complete lint and discard log.
- Maintain orderly and clean linen stock areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized laundry room.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a cleaner or housekeeper, hotel experience preferred
- Detail-oriented and thorough
- Remain discreet and respect privacy of guests, work with the highest level of integrity
- Perform consistent work to the highest standard
- Ability to work quickly without compromising quality
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
- Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant and friendly way
- Excellent prioritization and time management skills
- Willingness to work rotational 7-day work cycle; including weekends and holidays
