Per Diem Housekeeper

Pay Rate: $17.15 / Hourly

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Clean all apartments per policy and cleaning schedule.
  • Clean common areas, guestrooms, Assisted Living, Health Center and other rooms as assigned.
  • Vacuum drapes and furniture defrosts and cleans refrigerator/freezer, wash windows, change linen, make beds, clean bathrooms, spot clean carpet and clean kitchen area.
  • Follow individual instructions from the residents.
  • Clean hallways, laundry room and trash rooms on assigned floors.
  • Clean exercise room, office area and bathrooms.
  • Clean Assisted Living apartments as needed.
  • Attend all staff meetings and departmental in-services.
  • Respond to housekeeping emergencies.
  • Perform special cleaning assignment for apartment turnover.
  • Report any hazardous conditions or equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Wear departmental uniform on a daily basis.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, or willingness and ability to learn procedures necessary for position.
  • Six months environmental services experience preferred, preferably in a health care setting.
  • Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, vendors and the general public.
  • This position may/will be required to provide direct care or have access to resident property or belongings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Performing duties of this job requires prolonged walking and standing. Must be able to regularly lift 30 pounds and occasionally lift 50 pounds without assistance and the ability to sit, talk and hear is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The majority of essential job duties are performed indoors, in a normal office environment. The employee may be exposed to temperature fluctuations.

SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIP: The work is performed within established guidelines, and requires periodic supervision. The employee exercises some initiative and independent judgment to effectively perform the essential job duties of this position.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR OTHERS: The employee has no responsibility for others. However, may assist in training new staff.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be fully acquainted with all safety policies and procedures of Episcopal SeniorLife Communities. Takes an active role in all fire drills during the shift and/or emergencies for internal and external disasters as monitored by supervisor and incident manager. Must comply with facility in-service requirements.
