GENERAL SUMMARY:

The position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the ACC properties to the highest standards and providing excellent customer service to the residents at ACC Greenhaven Terrace. Reports directly to the ACC Greenhaven Terrace Maintenance Manager. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains facilities in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning, and replacement of equipment and furnishings.
  • Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.
  • Responsible for the disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials. Removes trash (including recycling, taking shredding bag to nursing home as required). Follows a printed schedule to complete all task on a daily, weekly monthly or as-needed schedule.
  • Provides housekeeping to individual resident units according to a monthly schedule.
  • Assists with unit turnover tasks such as floor care, cleaning appliances, and washing interior windows.
  • Handles various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc. Must comply with all government regulations (OSHA, EPA, State Health Department, etc.).
  • Reports any needed repairs immediately to supervisor.
  • Provides daily interior /exterior cleaning of the community room & related common areas.
  • Mops floors with appropriate (germicidal) solution; vacuums floors and edges.
  • Dust mops floor with treated dust mop.
  • Dusts furniture and fixtures, mini-blinds and horizontal dusting.
  • Cleans bathrooms (commodes, sinks, vanity areas, mirrors, etc.).
  • Cleans windows and window tracks.
  • Maintains and cares for all equipment on Housekeeping Cart.
  • Maintains good public relations with residents, program participants and volunteers.
  • Stocks Housekeeping Cart at end of shift.
  • Has a basic understanding of infection control.
  • Has a basic knowledge of chemical usage.
  • Other tasks as assigned.



Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 or older
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational training and CPR and First Aid preferred.
  • Effective English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in housekeeping activities and use of supplies preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of infection control; understanding of chemical usage and safety body mechanics.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Knowledge and use of proper body mechanics and safety mechanics. Compliance with all OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) regulations is required.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds, move furniture or equipment (with use of proper Personal Protective Equipment and assistance).
  • Ability to communicate in one or more Asian or Pacific Islander languages desired.
  • Some knowledge in maintenance preferred.
