Shifts: 07:00-15:00
Education & Experience
- Grade 10 education or equivalent
- Previous experience in a hospitality or healthcare setting is an asset.
- WHMIS Certification and knowledge of janitorial / housekeeping equipment required.
- Related certifications are an asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean resident common areas and individual suites to maintain a safe, clean and comfortable living environment.
- Engage in conversation with residents while cleaning their suite or in common areas.
- Collect, launder, and deliver linens to resident rooms while ensuring laundry supplies are restocked, and equipment is used safely.
- Prepare and utilize cleaning solutions according to established safety protocols and WHMIS standards, established procedures and safe practices.
- Monitor the condition of all tools and equipment, reporting any faults or safety hazards to management promptly.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relations by displaying tact, courtesy and patience with residents, guests, volunteers and employees.
- An engaging personality with the physical and mental fitness to perform all assigned duties independently and with minimal supervision.
- Competency in English to effectively follow and communicate written and oral instructions.
- Knowledge about the safe use of cleaning chemicals, housekeeping and janitorial equipment.
