Position Highlights

Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned areas which may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, clinic, laboratory, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas. Supports the hospital's goal of excellence in patient care by facilitating positive employee relations and supporting department goals. Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards.

What you will do

  • Maintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.
  • Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned. These may include, but not be limited to: dusting, washing, waxing, drying, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, moving furniture, and emptying trash.
  • Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining stock on individual cleaning carts including wet and dry supplies.
  • May sort, wash, and accurately deliver linens.
  • Washes beds and mattresses, and remakes beds after dismissal of patients.
  • Maintain good customer relations at all times.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality when dealing with data related to patients, physicians, co-workers and any other hospital information.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED preferred; or one to three months related experience preferred.

License/Certification/Registration

None required.
