Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain resident rooms, common areas, offices, and other assigned spaces throughout the campus.
- Perform routine dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, sanitizing, and restroom cleaning.
- Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with established procedures.
- Replenish cleaning and restroom supplies as needed.
- Follow established cleaning schedules, procedures, and infection-control practices.
- Safely operate and maintain housekeeping equipment and use cleaning products according to manufacturer and safety guidelines.
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and needed repairs to the appropriate department.
- Provide courteous and respectful service to residents, visitors, and staff.
- Assist with special cleaning projects and other housekeeping duties as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established cleaning procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable, punctual, and service-oriented.
- Ability to communicate effectively and interact respectfully with residents, visitors, and coworkers.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in a residential care environment.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach while performing cleaning tasks.
- Push and pull housekeeping carts and cleaning equipment.
- Perform repetitive motions associated with cleaning, including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and wiping.
- Work indoors and outdoors as needed and in varying environmental conditions.
