Location: Pipestem Resort State Park - Park Wide
Work Schedule Under the direction and scheduling of supervisors, a housekeeping employee will be available to work all shifts necessary for housekeeping operations. This may include a rotating shift, evenings, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Nature/Examples of Work: Under General Supervision, housekeepers for West Virginia State Parks are responsible for providing excellent customer service and hospitality to all guests and visitors. Our housekeepers are an important team member for the success of our state parks by creating positive impressions in keeping state park facilities clean, sanitary and safe.
Lodge and Public Area Housekeepers are responsible for dusting all surfaces, including furniture, lamps, tabletops, sofas and curtains, scrubbing and mopping floors using cleaning solutions, vacuuming carpets, upholstered furniture and curtains, emptying trash and placing new liners in the bin, wiping and sanitizing electrical wires, gadgets and other electric equipment such as TV and remotes, cleaning tubs, showers and toilets using antibacterial bathroom cleaners, scrubbing tile or marble with cleaning agents and cleaning the taps, ensuring not to leave any water stains, cleaning mirrors, glass surfaces and windows using cleaning solutions to ensure they are shiny and spotless, stripping and remaking beds, and restocking guest room amenities and towels.
Lodge and public area housekeepers will also be responsible for overseeing the cleanliness of common areas and creating a warm, friendly and welcoming environment for state park guests and visitors. This may include: vacuuming carpeted stairwells and curtains in the common area and the front desk, scrubbing and mopping hard floors using appropriate cleaning solutions, ensuring proper lighting in hallways, stairwells, washrooms and elevators, cleaning and sanitizing common bathrooms and sinks using disinfectant wipes, sprays and scented cleaners, wiping the surfaces of elevator buttons and ensuring they function properly, cleaning tables, chairs and other furniture in the lobby, and cleaning mirrors, glass surfaces, windows and doors using cleaning solutions to ensure they are shiny and spotless
Cabin Housekeepers are responsible dusting all surfaces, including furniture, lamps, tabletops, sofas and curtains, scrubbing and mopping floors using cleaning solutions, vacuuming carpets, upholstered furniture and curtains, emptying trash and placing new liners in the bin, wiping and sanitizing electrical wires, gadgets and other electric equipment such as TV and remotes, cleaning tubs, showers and toilets using antibacterial bathroom cleaners, scrubbing tile or marble with cleaning agents and cleaning the taps, ensuring not to leave any water stains, cleaning mirrors, glass surfaces and windows using cleaning solutions to ensure they are shiny and spotless, stripping and remaking beds, and restocking guest room amenities and towels, cleaning and sanitizing kitchens, washing, drying dishes, cooking utensils, and silverware, taking inventory of all kitchen items and reporting any missing inventory, checking smoke detectors, door locks, window locks and fire extinguishers and making repair order requests to maintenance when needed, and restocking cabin amenities. Cabin housekeepers may also assist in painting rooms and refurbishing furniture during the off season.
Lodge, Public Area, and Cabin Housekeepers may also operate or assist in operating a park laundry facility, or may coordinate pick up of soiled linens and accept deliveries of clean linens from laundry delivery services. Employees will be responsible for inspecting linens and towels for stains, holes and tears and may be responsible for washing, folding and pressing linens, towels and bedding.
All housekeeping employees will positively interact with all park guests to immediately resolve their housekeeping requests in a manner reflecting a positive image for West Virginia State Parks. Housekeeping employees will keep all documentation and records as required by supervisors. Shall be required to wear appropriate uniform and name tag. Must be available to work weekends, evenings, nights and holidays as needed.
Performs all related and non-related work as required by supervisors. Regular attendance is required.

Dates of Employment: Year-Round
Wage Rate: Hourly rate starts at $12.00 per hour. After 6 months, the hourly rate increases to $13 per hour, pending review of performance and attendance.
