Job Objective:

Responsible for regular cleaning and general upkeep of patient, public and or office areas, and associated ancillary areas, such as nurse’s station, restrooms, treatment rooms, lounges, etc.

Licensure/Certification:
Required: California Driver License if assigned to CC8443 EVS (Professional Office Buildings)

Experience:
Preferred: Housekeeping/janitorial experience

Reports To: Director or Manager Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric Blood Borne Pathogens: Moderate Potential

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Ability to effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner, Ability to work independently and as a team member, Knowledge of housekeeping equipment, procedures and products

Essential Responsibilities

1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
2. Cleans occupied and discharged patient rooms.
3. Cleans all associated ancillary areas of assigned patient care unit.
4. Responds to emergencies assigned by nursing, or through Environmental Services Department.
5. Maintains adequate cleaning supplies to complete shift.
6. Refills all paper and other supplies as needed.
7. Cleans cart and closet at end of shift; returns all borrowed equipment.
8. Notifies nursing supervisor as rooms are ready for new admissions.
9. Notifies EVS department secretary of any maintenance concerns.
10. Empties all sharps containers when 3/4 full.
11. Maintains assigned area in accordance to all departmental policies and procedures.
12. Provides patient observation at the discretion of a nurse and communicates observations of patient condition changes to nurse.

13. May be responsible for delivering supplies and equipment to various locations.
14. Assists with onboarding new employees as assigned.
15. Works in multiple locations as assigned.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
