The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining Gentex facilities with integrity and attention to detail, ensuring a clean and safe work environment for employees, customers, and visitors.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness throughout assigned building, including restrooms, cafeteria break areas and plant offices.

  • Follow schedule of assigned tasks to be completed daily.

  • Perform routine indoor and outdoor housekeeping duties, including transporting refuse and recyclables to designated exterior disposal areas in all seasons and weather conditions.

  • Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting.

  • Maintain supply levels in responsible areas and restock as needed.

  • Respond to customer complaints/requests with professionalism and patience.

  • Provide customer service to all individuals that utilize Gentex facilities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Quality of Work – Attention to detail in following work instructions, willingness to meet production output/expectations, and limit the number of quality errors including the ability to identify and correct these errors.

  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties , including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.

  • Ability to follow and stick to a strict daily schedule.

  • Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality.

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, as required, including exposure to seasonal weather conditions.

  • Must take ownership in work with a positive attitude which is evident through good attendance, timeliness, and willingness to get involved.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Meet the following physical requirements:

    • Physical endurance to cover large building spaces.

    • Comfortable maneuvering in and around furniture and fixtures (such as, but not limited to squatting, twisting, bending and kneeling) while using materials used in custodial work.)

    • Ability to stand, remain stationary, and/or move about for 8 hours.

    • May require repetitive lifting up to 20 lbs.

    • May require the safe handling, utilization and disposal of chemicals, including alcohol, acetone, and other common cleaning agents.

    • May require frequent and/or repetitive bending, reaching, squatting or otherwise positioning the body.

WHAT WILL HELP

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Custodial/housekeeping experience.

  • Good understanding of custodial/housekeeping cleaning materials.
