Location: Washington, D.C. 20015
Employment Type: Part-Time (15 – 18 hours per week /15 guaranteed)
Schedule: 3 days per week, Monday - Thursday; within hours of 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Compensation: $30–$35 per hour based on experience
Start Date: ASAP
Our home is a busy, energetic household in Northwest D.C., grounded in warmth, routines, and the joyful rhythm of family life. Both parents have demanding careers that often include travel, so our days move quickly and rarely look the same. At the center of it all is our curious, easy-going toddler who keeps us on our toes, along with our lovable terrier mix who firmly believes the house revolves around him. We thrive when our home feels organized and cared for, and we know how much smoother family life becomes when the right systems are in place.
We're looking for someone who enjoys creating that sense of order behind the scenes—the person who keeps the household running seamlessly. From resetting the home after a busy day, coordinating with vendors to preparing meals that make weeknights easier, and staying ahead of laundry and household organization, this role is about taking ownership of the many details that help our family function at its best. It's the thoughtful work that often goes unnoticed until it isn't done, and it's deeply valued in our home.
Above all, we're hoping to welcome someone who is warm, dependable, and takes genuine pride in their work. We appreciate professionalism paired with kindness, clear communication, and the confidence to use good judgment. We see this as a true partnership, and we're excited to create an environment where the right person feels trusted, supported, and able to make a meaningful impact on our family's daily life.
You are someone who enjoys taking ownership and helping a home run smoothly. You naturally think a few steps ahead, approaching tasks with the mindset of a project manager—breaking them down, prioritizing what needs to happen, and following through with confidence. You bring a calm, organized presence to busy environments, communicate clearly and thoughtfully, and have excellent judgment about when to ask for guidance and when to take initiative.
You enjoy being around children and dogs and are comfortable becoming a trusted part of a family's daily rhythm while maintaining professional boundaries. You're happy coordinating with vendors and contractors, confidently handling a strong-willed dog on walks, and adapting as schedules or priorities change. Flexibility, kindness, and reliability come naturally to you, and you understand that every day in a busy household can look a little different.
Most of all, you appreciate that it's the small details that make the biggest difference. Whether it's caring for laundry the way a family prefers, keeping organizational systems running effortlessly, or noticing what needs attention before anyone has to ask, you take pride in thoughtful, consistent work. You find satisfaction in creating a home that feels calm, welcoming, and well cared for, knowing that your support allows the entire household to thrive.
