We're a busy, two-parent household with two energetic young children. Our home is warm and relaxed but kid-centered - humming along with the rhythm of school calendars, activities, and the general joyful chaos that comes with this stage of life. We moved into our current space within the last year and are still settling into the routines and systems that make the house run smoothly.
Both parents work full-time: one is fully remote and one works a hybrid schedule. With that, we have some flexibility - but we’re looking for consistency and balance. We’re focused on finding support for the day-to-day: the childcare, the tidying, the laundry, the meal prep, and the steady, proactive support that keeps everything from falling through the cracks.
We're not a rigid, rules-heavy household. We care about results much more than process, and we are always open to trying new ways in the name of efficiency. We are looking for someone we can trust, who is not afraid to get creative, and who becomes a real part of how our family functions.
First and foremost: you sincerely love interacting with children. You view school pick ups as a bonding opportunity, you’ll get on the floor and play, and you’re happy to run kid-related errands. You are comfortable with being a consistent role model for little ones, but know how to hold firm and kind boundaries when the situation calls for it.
When you are not with the kids, you transition naturally. You're professional, proactive, and invested in the wellbeing of the family you work with. You take stock of what would lighten the load and act on it. You have grit, a good attitude, and a "no task too big or too small" approach to work. You're also someone who values consistency and is looking for a role where you can put down roots and grow with a family over time.
We are flexible people, and are seeking the right candidate who can match us with their own flexibility. We are looking for two days per week where the focus is the kids: picking them up from school and keeping them entertained. On the longer days, we will want assistance with meal prep, laundry, and other projects, tasks, or errands that may come up. We can be open as to which days are shorter and which are longer. We are happy to accommodate other obligations in your schedule in hopes that you can sometimes step in for days that the schools are closed or if we’d like to plan a date night.
Please submit a short intro letter telling us about yourself and why this role is a great fit, an updated resume, and 3 professional references with contact information (name, relationship, phone, and email). Please note that this role requires a background check.
