Proposed Start Date: ASAP
Proposed Schedule: Approximately 16–20 hours/week, Monday–Thursday, 4 hours/day afternoon/evening
Compensation: $38–$48/hour based on experience
We are a busy, warm, and down-to-earth family of four with two young children, a seven-year-old son and four-year-old daughter, and our friendly Cavapoo dog. Our home is lively, active, and full of the everyday energy that comes with raising young children. Both parents have demanding professional lives, and we are looking for someone who can bring more ease, consistency, and organization to our evenings and day-to-day family life, while also becoming a warm and trusted presence in our home.
The biggest priority is dinner. We’d love for someone to support us in figuring out what’s for dinner, cooking, and tidying afterwards so we can come home and be present with our kids. Beyond meals, we are looking for someone who can take ownership of the many small household details and logistical tasks to help reduce mom and dad's mental load. Having someone who can help the home run more smoothly allows us to be more present with our children and enjoy our time together as a family.
Ultimately, we hope to find someone who enjoys helping a busy family function more smoothly and takes pride in creating a home that feels organized, calm, and cared for. We value trust, appreciation, and mutual respect, and are looking for someone who can become a meaningful, long-term part of our family’s day-to-day life. We also want this to be a genuinely positive and welcoming environment to work in, one where the person in this role feels comfortable becoming part of our household rhythm and interacting naturally with our family.
You are a highly reliable, accountable, and proactive 'doer' who naturally notices what needs to happen next. You take ownership, follow through, communicate clearly, and can independently manage responsibilities without needing constant direction. Punctuality and consistency are especially important; we are looking for someone dependable and who plans ahead, stays organized, and can be counted on to see things through. You are detail-oriented while still able to see the bigger picture, and you are comfortable managing both recurring responsibilities and one-off household projects.
You genuinely enjoy cooking and are confident independently planning and preparing varied, healthy family meals. You are creative and resourceful in the kitchen, comfortable working with whole-food ingredients, and respectful of our household’s no-pork preference. You also enjoy the operational side of household management, from resetting and organizing spaces to managing calendars, researching solutions, coordinating appointments, and keeping household supplies stocked. You are tech-savvy, comfortable learning new systems, and bring strong problem-solving skills and good judgment to whatever needs attention.
You are warm, comfortable around children and dogs, and understand that supporting a family means adapting to their routines. We value someone who is confident and capable without being overly opinionated, who uses good judgment, and who can step into a dynamic evening with flexibility and common sense. Most importantly, you bring a positive attitude and high standards, take pride in doing things well, and genuinely enjoy finding ways to make a busy family's life easier.
