Location: Austin, TX 78735
Employment Type: Part-time, approximately 15-20 hours per week
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 1:00–5:00 PM, with flexibility to adjust the exact hours based on your availability and the family’s needs. Consistent coverage is needed from 1:00–2:00 PM each day
Compensation: $30-$35 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
We are a warm, busy, and easygoing family of six with four children ranging from preschool through high school, plus a beloved family dog. Our home is active and full of life, with kids involved in school, sports, and plenty of day-to-day activities. Both parents work from home part-time while managing their business, so our household is often in motion. We have a casual, open communication style and are looking for someone who can become a trusted, natural part of our home rather than simply working around the edges of it.
Our days are fluid - what's planned on Sunday may look completely different by Wednesday, and we're looking for someone who can embrace that flexibility with us. We have a biweekly cleaning crew, but there’s plenty of ongoing household management happening every day to keep everything running smoothly. Above all, we're looking for a dependable, proactive person who will bring warmth, good judgment, and a genuine team mentality to our household.
You are warm, proactive, and organized with the ability to walk into a busy home and recognize what needs to happen next. You take pride in creating order and making a family's day easier, whether that means managing laundry, getting the house ready for the cleaning crew, prepping food, or making sure the kids have what they need for the next day's activities. You communicate openly and honestly, follow through on what you say you'll do, and can take direction while also using good judgment and initiative.
You enjoy being around children and understand that supporting a family means being willing to pitch in wherever you're needed. You can shift gears when plans change, stay calm when the afternoon gets busy, and approach household tasks with a can-do attitude. We're looking for someone to own that afternoon window with us: picking up our youngest, keeping the house running, and slowly taking on more as trust builds. We're open to candidates with different levels of experience, including someone who is motivated to grow into the role over time. What matters most is that you're reliable, thoughtful, resourceful, and genuinely invested in helping our household run well.
