We are a warm, busy household with two working parents, two school-age children, and a family dog. With demanding professional schedules and two children entering an increasingly active stage of school, activities, camps, and social commitments, there are a lot of moving pieces to keep organized. We are looking for a Family Assistant who can step in as a true extension of our household — helping us stay ahead of the day-to-day details. We want our time together to feel present and connected—not dominated by the constant cycle of chores and to-dos.
Our children are at the heart of our home, and staying connected and involved in their school lives is incredibly important to us. As their schedules become fuller, we need someone who can help manage the logistics behind the scenes — coordinating calendars, keeping track of school needs, preparing for activities and camps, handling pick-ups and other child-related logistics, and making sure the household is prepared for what is coming next.
We are detail-oriented and naturally operate with a high level of organization and efficiency. We value a home that feels warm, functional, and thoughtfully managed, and we appreciate systems that make everyday life easier. We are not looking for someone who simply works through a predetermined task list. We want someone who learns the rhythms of the household, understands our preferences, and begins to anticipate what needs attention without waiting to be asked.
The right person will take genuine ownership of their role. Whether that means noticing that something needs to be restocked, keeping an eye on household subscriptions and recurring needs, preparing for an upcoming school event, or identifying a better way to organize a routine, we want someone who sees the full picture and has a plan. Privacy, discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism are extremely important to us, as is finding someone we can trust to become a consistent and reliable presence in our home.
You are a natural self-starter who enjoys being the person behind the scenes making everything run more smoothly. You do not need to be handed a detailed list each day; you walk into our home, take stock of what needs attention, prioritize effectively, and get to work. Rather than asking, "Let me know if you need anything," you are already anticipating about what our family will need tomorrow, next week, and next month.
You are highly organized, resourceful, and proactive, with the ability to manage both recurring responsibilities and the unexpected things that inevitably come up in a busy household. You pay attention to details, follow through without needing reminders, and communicate clearly about what has been handled, what is coming up, and anything that requires the family's input. Once you understand how the household operates, you are comfortable taking initiative and making thoughtful decisions independently.
Because this is truly a Family Assistant position, you genuinely enjoy working around children and understand that supporting the household and supporting the children often go hand in hand. You are comfortable helping with school and activity logistics, preparing for the week ahead, assisting with child-related errands and organization, and providing light childcare or babysitting support when needed. You take the time to get to know the children and family so that your support becomes increasingly intuitive and personalized.
Most importantly, you want to build trust, learn the family's routines and preferences, and become someone they can confidently rely on. You take pride in creating order, anticipating needs, and continuously improving the systems around you. A successful person in this role will ultimately become a trusted right hand — someone who sees what needs to happen, creates a plan, and follows it through.
To apply, please submit a short intro letter telling us about yourself and why this role is a great fit, an updated resume, and three professional references with contact information. Please note this role requires a background check.
