Schedule: Mondays are required, along with either Wednesday and/or Thursday (flexible on exact day selection). All shifts will fall between 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

We're a family of four in North County San Diego with a 3-year-old daughter who's full of energy and curiosity, and an 8-month-old son who keeps us on our toes. Our home is warm and welcoming, anchored by our 90-pound English Cream Golden Retriever, who's very much part of the family.
We value calm, intentional energy in our home. As parents, we're deeply invested in being present with our children—whether that's doing arts and crafts together, starting a backyard garden, or our Sunday tradition of pancakes followed by beach walks. We value household support that feels calm, capable, and intuitive: someone who can confidently take initiative, read the room well, and work independently while naturally fitting into the flow of a busy family home.
Our daughter starts half-day preschool twice a week in August, and we are currently in the very hands-on phase with our son, who loves being held and needs a lot of attention throughout the day. During periods when my husband is traveling for work, I am often solo parenting, so additional support during those times — whether that’s helping with dog walks, light childcare support, or simply helping keep the home flowing smoothly — is deeply appreciated.
We currently have a house cleaner who comes weekly so we are looking for someone who can help lift the mental load by managing the planning, organizing, restocking, laundry, and anticipating needs so our weeks feel more easy and supported rather than overwhelming.
We also have many existing lists and systems already in place — whether that’s a checklist of items we always keep stocked or a detailed household manual for the home. We would love someone who can confidently utilize these online tools as helpful reference points while also naturally taking ownership, noticing details independently, and helping the home feel calm, reset, and well cared for.
You're a proactive problem-solver who doesn't wait to be told what needs doing. You naturally notice details, take initiative, and enjoy creating order behind the scenes. You find satisfaction in making life easier for others and quietly helping a home run well.
You're comfortable with constructive feedback because you understand that every family has its own unique rhythms, preferences, and systems. You know there will be a learning curve as you get to know how we like our home to operate, and you see feedback as an opportunity to become a more intuitive and seamless extension of our family over time.
You bring a calm, grounded presence and are naturally at ease around children. You're happy to engage with them, help keep them safe, and support when appropriate, while recognizing that your primary role is supporting the household and following the parents' lead when it comes to childcare and parenting.
You're organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable using technology to streamline household management. Whether it's placing grocery and household supply orders through online retailers or managing subscriptions, you're confident using digital tools to stay organized. Our household is organized through a detailed Notion workspace that serves as our home's operating manual. It's where you'll find checklists, household systems, grocery preferences, routines, vendor information, and countless details that help our home run smoothly. We love creating systems that set people up for success, and we hope you'll become very comfortable using Notion as your primary resource, allowing you to answer many questions independently and grow increasingly confident in the role.
You have strong emotional intelligence and excellent situational awareness. You naturally read the room, know when to step in, when to step back, and understand how to support a busy household without creating additional work for the family. We always welcome thoughtful questions, especially as you're learning our home and routines. Over time, you're comfortable making routine decisions independently, using good judgment about what requires immediate input versus what can be thoughtfully grouped together for a more convenient conversation.
Because I'm home with our young children, one of the greatest gifts this role provides is allowing me to stay mentally present with them instead of constantly shifting into household management mode. You understand that every unnecessary interruption pulls attention away from family life, so you take pride in anticipating needs, solving routine problems independently, and communicating thoughtfully and intentionally.

Success in this role looks like becoming a trusted extension of our home: someone who quietly notices what needs attention, takes ownership with confidence, communicates thoughtfully, and helps our family stay present because the household is running smoothly behind the scenes.
We understand that not every responsibility happens weekly, and many tasks are rotational, seasonal, or situational in nature. More than anything, we value thoughtful prioritization over trying to accomplish everything at once. While responsibilities may vary from week to week, the biggest areas of support for our family are maintaining household flow through laundry, restocking groceries and household essentials, and helping lighten the family’s mental load in meaningful, proactive ways.
