About Our Family

We are a busy, values-driven family of four based in The Woodlands, Texas — and we run full speed, almost always. Both parents work from home in demanding careers that require frequent travel, sometimes at the same time. Our two daughters are active, energetic, and deeply embedded in the basketball world — practices, games, and tournaments are a constant rhythm of our week. Dad coaches one daughter's team, Mom coaches the other, and basketball is simply part of who we are as a family.

Our home is warm, loud in the best way, and full of love — including from our two friendly dogs who are very much part of the household. We care deeply about kindness, service, and treating every person with dignity and respect — regardless of race, background, or identity. We try to live those values in practical ways, and we’re passionate advocates for justice and the underserved.

We are also a family navigating ongoing health challenges, so having strong household systems and dependable support is especially important to us. We're looking for someone who brings calm, flexibility, and a proactive mindset—someone who can help keep our home running smoothly through both everyday routines and periods that require a little extra support.

When we find good help, they become part of our family. We are looking for someone who wants that kind of relationship too.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You are warm, a little sarcastic, and genuinely fun to be around — but you also get things done. You have strong common sense and street smarts, and you don't wait to be told what needs attention. You notice things, you think ahead, and you aren't shy about offering a suggestion or a better idea when you have one. You take initiative and look for ways to make a home feel more harmonious, not just cleaner.

You are patient and comfortable spending time with kids — our younger daughter will often be around, and she needs someone who matches her energy and makes her feel at ease. You are also emotionally intelligent and deeply empathetic. You understand that chronic illness is unpredictable, and you show up the same way — without judgment — whether it's a great day or a hard one for the family.

You are comfortable in a home where faith is part of the conversation, even if it's not part of your own life. And you are someone who genuinely believes in treating every person with dignity and respect — because so do we.

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Create and maintain household organization systems that keep the home running smoothly day to day
  • Perform daily resets: tidying surfaces, loading/unloading the dishwasher, and keeping high-traffic areas clean and clear
  • Prep the home ahead of weekly cleaning visits
  • Manage seasonal clothing, décor, and bedding swaps
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs and keep donation areas organized
  • Assist with holiday and guest prep as needed
  • Support packing and unpacking for family travel
  • Tackle occasional deep-clean tasks such as wiping down the refrigerator interior, cleaning door casings, dusting chandeliers, and clearing cobwebs
  • Regularly refresh the mudroom and entryway
  • Change air filters throughout the home
  • Lead a major garage organization overhaul (a priority project for the family)

Inventory & Errands

  • Manage and restock pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies
  • Handle household orders across Amazon, Costco, Walmart, and H-E-B (both in-person shopping and online order pickup)
  • Process returns and handle occasional gift shopping as needed
  • Break down and recycle boxes

Meal Support

  • Pack healthy school lunches for both daughters five days a week, with an emphasis on fresh fruits, vegetables, and nutritious options
  • Assist with 2–3 dinners per week — prepped or batch-cooked meals that are ready to warm up, especially on basketball practice evenings
  • Prep healthy snacks and wash/chop fruits and vegetables for the week

Laundry & Linens

  • Wash and maintain bedding and household linens (bed-making handled separately)
  • Occasional ironing or steaming of special garments as needed
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked
  • Potential for expanded laundry support beyond linens

Pet Care

  • Walk both dogs regularly
  • Monitor pet supply levels and place Amazon orders as needed when supplies run lower than the scheduled delivery

Vehicle Upkeep

  • Fuel the family vehicle as needed
  • Periodically check and maintain cleanliness of the family vehicle

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Oversee an upcoming landscaping project and serve as the on-site point of contact for the landscaping team
  • Flag repair needs or household issues to the family and assist with researching options or gathering quotes as needed
  • Reset and maintain outdoor spaces (patio and pool area) throughout warmer months — tidying up after gatherings, ensuring furniture is properly stored, and keeping the space ready for use

Family Support

  • Provide occasional pick-ups or drop-offs for the girls as a backup option when parents are unavailable
  • Offer light supervision or back-up childcare on an occasional basis, including potential overnight support during parent travel when extended family is unavailable
  • Handle kid-related errands as they come up

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

  • Help manage the family's shared Google Calendar, including household schedules, kids' activities, and logistics
  • Track household expenses using the family credit card; assist with receipt organization
