JOB TITLE: 

A&S Marketing and Communications Intern

JOB PURPOSE: 

The A&S Marketing and Communications Intern will gain valuable experience while assisting the marketing and communications efforts for the college of Arts & Sciences. This will include, but is not limited to, assisting with social media, basic design work, prospecting and writing news releases and other duties as assigned.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting in the management of the A&S social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn)
  • Prospect stories and write news releases based on events and the achievements of A&S faculty, staff and students
  • Assist in basic design projects to promote A&S initiatives (Posters, flyers, mailers, etc.)
  • Gain experience in email marketing initiatives through crafting messages to A&S constituents

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Current UW Student studying communications and journalism, marketing or related field

Experience: 1 year internship/work experience in marketing and communications 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

Experience in basic design

Experience writing in journalistic style for press releases

Experience managing, planning and analyzing social media efforts

WORK LOCATION:

On-campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.
