Job Description

At Infinite Aged Care, our Kitchen Assistants play a vital role in creating positive daily experiences for our residents. Reporting to the Chef Manager you will be part of our dedicated Hotel Services Team, helping deliver nutritious, high-quality meals in a warm and welcoming environment.

Mealtimes are a highlight of the day for our residents, your friendly approach, attention to detail, and teamwork will help turn every meal into a moment of connection and care.

About the Role

In this hands-on, fast-paced role, you will:

  • Assist with food preparation, plating, and meal service, delivering friendly and respectful customer service.
  • Support residents’ dietary and cultural needs, including texture-modified and allergen-sensitive meals.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness across kitchen, dining, and service areas.
  • Set up and reset dining rooms, including equipment and table settings, ready for each service.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the team, showing initiative, common sense, and a willingness to help others.
  • Create a welcoming and positive atmosphere for residents, making every interaction meaningful.

This role is a physical & fast paced with a lot of variety, you will do a lot of bending, squatting, lifting and pushing items to carry out your daily tasks safely. It is important you can perform these tasks without risk of injury to yourself, your colleagues and our residents

About You

  • Previous experience in hospitality and/or a commercial kitchen environment.
  • A warm, friendly, and compassionate approach, with a genuine desire to support and engage with our residents.
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety, with the ability to follow procedures and communicate clearly with your team.
  • Proactive in supporting residents in dining areas, helping to maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment.
  • A confident problem-solver who can work independently, take initiative, and adapt in a fast-paced setting.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and flexible, with good availability to cover a variety of shifts.
