Sydney CBD | Hybrid | Full-time
About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented IHACPA Pricing and Data Specialist with strong data analytics focus to support the preparation, analysis, and submission of residential aged care pricing applications to the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA).

Reporting to the Project Officer and working closely with the Business Sustainability and Seniors Services teams, this role is responsible for analysing and interpreting data, validating inputs from multiple sources, and translating data into accurate, compliant pricing submissions. The role plays a key part in supporting evidence-based pricing decisions and ensuring data integrity across submissions.

Key Responsibilities
• Analyse, validate, and interpret data to support residential aged care pricing submissions to IHACPA.
• Coordinate and manage end-to-end data collation and analysis required for pricing applications.
• Review datasets, written evidence, and visual documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
• Identify data gaps, anomalies, and risks, and proactively work with stakeholders to resolve them.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to source, clarify, and validate data inputs in a timely and structured manner.
• Consolidate and translate complex data into clear, accurate pricing application content.
• Manage multiple datasets, deadlines, and priorities to meet submission timeframes.
• Maintain high standards of documentation, version control, and audit readiness.
• Support the Project Officer with data-driven insights, market analysis, and reporting to inform pricing strategy.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.

Skills, experience and qualifications
Essential
• Tertiary qualifications in data analytics, business analytics, economics, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Typically 2+ years’ experience in data analysis, research, reporting, or pricing-related roles (aged care or regulated environments desirable; graduates considered on merit).
• Proven ability to analyse, validate, and interpret complex datasets with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong Excel capability, including data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
• Experience working with Word, Adobe, and online data collection or application platforms.
• Ability to follow detailed specifications and regulatory requirements, and revise outputs based on feedback.
• Confidence working collaboratively with stakeholders to obtain, validate, and interpret data.
• Willingness to visit residential aged care sites to support data collection activities, including room measurements and visual evidence.
• Willingness to learn new systems and analytical tools, including CAD software.

Desirable
• Experience analysing pricing, cost, or financial datasets.
• Experience in project-based or compliance-driven data environments.
• Strong experience in Excel modelling and data visualisation.
• Familiarity with SharePoint or document management systems.
• Understanding of the aged care sector, funding models, or IHACPA pricing processes.
