Why Work at Residence Inn Alexandria?

Residence Inn Alexandria Old Town South is a warm and welcoming place to work, where teamwork and support are part of the everyday culture. With spacious suites, a modern fitness center, complimentary breakfast, and a convenient location near Old Town, it offers both guests and curators a comfortable and engaging environment. If you're looking to grow in hospitality with a friendly team and opportunities for development, Residence Inn Alexandria is a great place to start.

Residence Inn Alexandria is hiring for a Night Auditor.

You should join our team if you believe...

  • That exceptional hospitality continues long after the daytime team has gone home.
  • That the Night Auditor is both a welcoming Front Desk presence and a trusted guardian of the hotel’s overnight operations.
  • That accuracy matters, especially when balancing accounts, reviewing transactions, and preparing the hotel for a new business day.
  • That every guest deserves warm, attentive service—whether checking in at 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m.
  • That a calm, capable presence can make guests feel secure and cared for throughout the night.
  • That clear communication between Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Security, and leadership keeps the hotel running smoothly.
  • That the quietest hours still offer opportunities to create unmatched moments.

You’re a great fit for this role if you love...

  • Welcoming late-arriving guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.
  • Completing check-ins, checkouts, room assignments, payment transactions, and guest requests accurately.
  • Supporting the unique needs of extended-stay guests and helping Residence Inn feel like a home away from home.
  • Answering telephone calls and responding promptly to guest questions, concerns, and overnight needs.
  • Reviewing reservations, room availability, special requests, and guest accounts.
  • Completing the nightly audit and balancing room revenue, taxes, payments, and other hotel transactions.
  • Reviewing Front Desk activity, correcting discrepancies, and preparing reports for hotel leadership.
  • Closing the business day and ensuring systems are ready for the next day’s operations.
  • Monitoring the lobby and guest areas while maintaining a welcoming, organized, and secure environment.
  • Coordinating wake-up calls, transportation information, packages, and early-departure needs.
  • Preparing key information for the morning team, including arrivals, departures, room status, guest concerns, and unresolved items.
  • Responding calmly to guest concerns, operational issues, and emergency situations.
  • Working independently while knowing when to contact a leader or emergency resource for assistance.
  • Taking pride in being one of the last friendly faces guests see at night—and one of the first they see in the morning.

We’re excited to have you join us because...

  • You understand that the Night Auditor plays an essential role in both guest service and financial accuracy.
  • You are dependable, punctual, and comfortable working independently during overnight hours.
  • You can balance warmth and hospitality with careful attention to numbers and details.
  • You remain calm, alert, and solutions-focused when unexpected situations arise.
  • You communicate clearly with guests, Curators, leaders, and other departments.
  • You are comfortable learning hotel systems, processing payments, and handling confidential guest information responsibly.
  • You can identify discrepancies, investigate concerns, and complete reports accurately.
  • You understand the importance of documenting incidents and communicating overnight activity to the morning team.
  • You enjoy building relationships with extended-stay and returning guests.
  • You bring sound judgment, organization, and a service-first mindset to every shift.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous Front Desk, Night Audit, accounting, customer-service, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Hotel or extended-stay experience is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of accounting, balancing, and financial reconciliation preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide professional, friendly, and attentive guest service.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn hotel reservation, property-management, and night-audit systems.
  • Ability to process payments and maintain accurate guest accounts.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed audit procedures, checklists, billing instructions, and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining responsive to guest and hotel needs.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
  • Bilingual communication skills preferred, but not required.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain awake, alert, and attentive throughout the overnight shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to move throughout guest-facing and back-of-house areas of the hotel.
  • Ability to use computers, telephones, payment-processing equipment, and other Front Desk technology.
  • Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, and move guest packages, supplies, and Front Desk materials.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds as needed.
