Nestled between the majestic Sunnmøre Alps and the deep Storfjord, Storfjord Hotel is one of Norway's most exclusive boutique hotels and a proud member of Relais & Châteaux. We are now looking for an experienced, passionate, and highly organized Hotel Manager to join our team.

As Hotel Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the seamless daily operation of the hotel. You will oversee and coordinate the different departments and operations while maintaining the exceptional service standards expected from a high end property recognized by Relais & Châteaux and featured in the Michelin Guide.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives on the floor, enjoys developing teams, and understands that true high end hospitality lies in flawless execution, attention to detail, and personalized guest experiences.

Beyond daily operations, you will play an important role in workforce planning, scheduling, operational administration, and ensuring that resources are aligned with occupancy levels and business needs. You will combine visible leadership with strong organizational skills to ensure efficient operations and exceptional guest experiences.

As a member of the hotel's leadership team, you will work closely with the General Manager and department leaders to continuously improve operations, strengthen team performance, and elevate the guest experience.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Guest Experience

• Lead and coordinate the daily operations of Front Office, Housekeeping, and SPA and collaborate closely with the different departments at the hotel.
• Ensure exceptional guest experiences and consistent high quality service standards throughout the hotel.
• Drive operational excellence and seamless collaboration between departments.
• Monitor guest feedback and proactively resolve service challenges.
• Ensure that our guests receive highly personalized and memorable experiences.
• Act as Manager on Duty as part of the hotel's leadership rotation.
• Provide hands-on operational support during busy periods and peak occupancy.

Team Leadership & Planning

• Manage departmental scheduling and workforce planning in accordance with laws, occupancy forecasts and operational requirements.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels during weekends, holidays, and peak periods.
• Coach, motivate, and develop team members to deliver world-class hospitality.
• Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and employee development initiatives.

Quality Assurance & Standards

• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, staff areas, and hotel facilities.
• Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, maintenance, and functionality.
• Uphold Relais & Châteaux standards and ensure consistent execution of the hotel's service philosophy.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency while maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction.

Administration & Operational Support

• Support administrative processes, including reporting, invoicing follow-up, commission handling, and operational documentation.
• Monitor operational performance and contribute to budgeting and cost-control initiatives.
• Maintain accurate operational records and ensure compliance with company procedures and standards.
• Review operational reports and ensure effective follow-up of actions and priorities.
• Collaborate with the leadership team on operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Act as an ambassador for Storfjord Hotel, representing the hotel to guests, travel partners and industry stakeholders and participating in relevant meetings, networking activities and events.

You are an inspiring leader with a passion for hospitality and an eye for detail and quality. You understand that high end hospitality is about anticipating needs before they arise and creating memorable moments through genuine care and flawless service.

We believe you have:

• Previous leadership experience within luxury hospitality, boutique hotels, premium resorts, or other high-end service environments.
• Strong operational understanding of hotel departments.
• Experience with scheduling, workforce planning, and hotel administration.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
• Financial awareness and the ability to balance guest experience with operational efficiency.
• Experience working with hotel management systems and reporting tools.
• A proactive, hands-on, and visible leadership style.
• Fluent English skills; Scandinavian language skills are an advantage.
• A valid Category B driver's licence and your own car are required, as public transportation to the hotel is limited.
