Our Finance team plays an essential role in supporting the success of the hotel by ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting and effective commercial decision-making.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Officer or Assistant Accountant looking to take the next step in their career. Working closely with the Director of Finance, you will gain exposure across hotel accounting operations while contributing to the financial performance and continued success of a premium five-star property.

As Hotel Accountant, you will support the financial operations of Pullman Cairns International, with responsibility across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, reporting and financial controls.

Working closely with the Director of Finance, you will ensure accurate financial records are maintained, compliance standards are met and key reporting requirements are delivered. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting expertise within a leading hotel environment and continue building your career within Accor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts receivable processes including credit approvals, debtor reporting and outstanding balances.
  • Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with vendor terms.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations and tax reporting obligations in a timely manner
  • Support month-end processes including reconciliations, journals and financial reporting.
  • Assist with audits, financial controls and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support reporting requirements.
  • Provide insights and analysis to support operational decision-making.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes and controls.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience in an Accounts Officer, Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliation processes.
  • High attention to detail with strong numerical accuracy and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative and professional approach.
  • Experience within hotel or hospitality finance is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Opera Cloud, Zambion, PurchasePlus and Sun would be advantageous.
  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or related discipline preferred.
